Here's a hint LA SLIMES - they're available today. They're called 'pre-ban' you jerks. I can get an AK-47 TODAY and have it shipped to my house by Thursday.
Also, this past Sunday I went to a gun store to renew my IL FOID Card (actually I only needed them to take my pic) and what do they have in the 'used' section, a MAC-10. One of the 'banned weapons'. And in the next case they has about a dozen 15 round magazines for I belive a P-89, HA! Take your ban and shove it.
Boy do I detest this idiot editorial writer Grrrrr..
But don't tell ANYONE, where I told you to get one :-)
I just sent in my FOID renewal and there's no question pertaining to a DUI conviction.
That being said, what they are attempting to do, is that if one has been treated for Alcoholism (a 28 day in-house program), they're trying to pull those peoples cards. There's an article like that on the ConcealedCarry.com website (out of Oakbrook). The state is is equating it with mental illness.
And if they did ban everyone with a DUI from owning a gun, half the many cops would be unarmed. (drunk cops is a dirty little secret)
"Most people, including most gun owners, are properly alarmed."
This is complete and utter BS! Most firearms enthusiasts want to see the AWB go away.
Uh-oh..this has turned into a great, living thread.
Sorry guys. Bad Muttly...BAD !
Reminds me that I want a Garand so badly I can smell the cosmoline. I guess it's not surprising, seeing that I have a bag of stripper-clips for my '03 and Mausers. Be Prepared. STILL my motto.
I retired my belt buckle/signal mirror for a ranger belt. More utilitarian, and traditional.
I had gotten to that ammo site a while ago, but when I saw the effectiveness of the round, figured I didn't want to be around it when it hit. Your funhouse experience fixed that for me, so I'll get some. I have tortured my brain (and those of friends) over this technical dilemma, and always thought it possible to use one combat gun...in place of the .45 Colt, which still works best for the field. Not many rounds, not much muzzle flip from pressure, but it sure does work. Were it not for the desperadoes in these parts, and their chemical fortification...I would be carrying a .45 Colt, or my SAA .44 Mag.
....."Bond. Elmer Bond. (longneck, not cans)"
Thanks Condor51 for address for 19 rd mags. However I was hoping that once the ban was lifted I could buy them for less than the $100 a copy price. The 10rd mags go for around $20 so I suspect the Hi-Caps would not be too much more if they could get sell them to the public.
"I'd stick with 115gr +P JHP's if I were you for that 9MM"
When I get the springs in...it will hopefully feed 115s...which sound great. Hits, and lots of 'em...are all that count, with good bullets working well. I do notice that the heavier heads retain engergy out there...but if the larger varmints get their heads down...that should give me the time I need to upgrade my equipment, as you point out.
If I need a new barrel...can I just drop it in...or is fitting required ?
Bond. Muttly Bond. The "00" is a license to scratch.
Even though Bush is a pansy on this issue, most Congressmen have a higher regard for their incumbency than to even propose a vote on this - but we need to keep up the pressure in no uncertain terms:
"If you vote to renew this laughably ineffectivee law, I'll work day and night for your opponent to see you defeated!"
Never tried casting stones, but casting bullets can be a fun leisure-time activity, as long as you do it in a well-ventilated area!
LOL!
I do believe you're both wrong, and that it was Bush the Elder's administration that signed-up for this ban in '89 or '90, just one more of his campaign promises that he famously broke.
Shortly before his famous "Read my lips..." statement on taxes, he made a clear and unequivocal statement that there were quite enough gun laws, thank you, and that he would permit no more restrictions upon our right to keep and bear arms.
I do believe this particular act of perfidy caused many a gun owner to sit out the '92 presidential elections or to vote instead for the "hand-grenade with ears."
So no, I have little use for the Bush family pere et fils.
Bond, Elmer Bond ???.......That glued it for me !....Stay Safe !
"......but I do stay up nights worrying about how that bayonet lug will be accepted by my friends and neighbors"
The ones who would be offended won't even know what it is...except for mine...which will be fixed with that cute bayonet...just in case of boars...and if I need to get an apple that is too high up.
I wonder what the neighbors will think of the grenade launcher, though.
(BTW..what does a Garand cost a needy pup these days? I'll have to go back to the toy store and see what they think they cost. Guess DCM is a good way. Would they mind if I painted it pink or baby-blue, so as not to worry the neighbors...?!)
-- and of course, Muttly already scheming how to convert subsequent ones to .270 Improved, and .35 Whelan -- BAD Muttly. BAD.
Chew on this for a while and let me know what ya think........:o)
http://www.mccannindustries.com/rifles/rifles.html
CMP vs DCM is the way to go IMHO 400 to 500 current cost I think.....then send it to the McCann boys if you want conversion !.......Stay Safe !
Oh what have you done to poor, innocent young Muttly.
Now he can get a .338 Garand Tanker. I am home. You have completed the Muttly Cycle for me..and I will be very quiet from now on. My quest is completed.
So...I take it that bolt-action .300WM pistol is designed for administering "enemas with extreme prejudice."
A "must-have" for the health-conscious, anti-terrorist Muttly...and the perfect "stocking-stuffer" for young and old.
(sleep is now a thing of the past for me...but smiling quietly is in full bloom. I have a deep feeling of inner peace now. Thank you, doctor)
I like my garand as is, bone stock. But if I lived in a dangerous game region where one gun for security, hunting and fun was needed I think that modified (bastardized) garand would meets most of the needs.......:o) I personally like their MAS conversion. Looks like a fun little rig !
Stay Safe !
That's an interesting tidbit.
The bastardized (as is Muttly's mind at this point) M1 suits my desires mainly because I shoot the bolt .30'06 so much, and will continue to...but want an ACCURATE semi-auto big game-sniping rifle, for mountain tough stuff...and dominance when returning fire...backs 'em up nice.
A loooong Garand in the north woods is undesireable, and I know that a short barrel can be as accurate as a long one...but one loses velocity (grrrrrrrr)...but now there are moly-coated bullets, and all good Muttlys handload !
Hey...I just went out and "warned" a lucky squirrel with a 124 Gold Dot. Once I got a proper grip, things fed well. I see what you mean about the 115s now. These were even Cor-Bons...and they shot like a ray gun, compared to the more artillery-like 124s. I'm stickin' with 'em. Good advice, friend. I hit the dead center middle ring of a tree stump at 15 yards like the muzzle was connected to it. Other than the refusal to go into battery from the mag. during loading (no lubrication could be it)...I think it was just bad technique. I am more serious now, and up to the gun. I hope the new springs help too. But just goes to show ya', autos are finnicky...and this hasn't happened once in hundreds of rounds, from day one. I was wedded to 124s because of work, where penetration was so important. Now conditions have changed, and I need longer range intimidation, but also devastation up close, as in cougars. Bonded 115's should do it.
Another site is The Sportsman's Guide. In fact this is on their current Shooting Supplies home page:
High-capacity Mags for Glock® with quality like the factory originals, for way less!
WX2-64065 - 33-rd. Mag for Glock,® 9 mm $53.97
I've bought 'stuff' from here too. Great bargins.
Good luck and happy shopping
#1 - pun intended
