A survey released last month by the University of Pennsylvania's Annenberg Public Policy Center found that 71% of those surveyed and 64% of gun owners wanted Congress to extend the ban.

What I find so hard to understand is why so few people understand that rights have nothing to do with popularity.

I would love to see this university do a complete study on how many homicides were attributed to the "banned" weapons 10 years prior to and then the ten years during the ban. But it won't happen because in all likelyhood would show an almost zero benifit
