"STRIP SEARCH" Propoganda Film On HBO
HBO | 5/17/04 | HBO, Sydney Lumet

Posted on 05/17/2004 10:06:23 AM PDT by Williams

Have you seen the horrendously offensive HBO showing of STRIP SEARCH, in which an Arab in the U.S. is degraded and strip searched in exactly the same way as an American woman (Maggie Gylenhaal) is treated by a Red Army officer in Communist China? Both interrogators use the same banal dialogue, both subjects are innocent. The only distinction is that the Communist Chinese male officer shows MORE compassion for the American and has more doubt about what he is doing than the American (Glenn Close).

The Arab is obviously innocent, the American interrogator uses offensive treatment throughout. The whole thing is done in the way the Communists would under Stalin (fake evidence, etc.)

In both cases they are told there were traces of TNT in their cars and that their lover is the key witness against them. Of course, the American's lover is a lesbian!

This was done prior to the Abu Grahib story. To make sure there is no mistaking the absolute anti- War On Terror propoganda message, we are told at the end that (Horrors!) since the 9/11 attacks, 700 persons have been detained without trial, that a small number were Americans and that ALL were denied due process.

All I can tell you is that if this is the left's idea of what America has become (and it is) you can be certain they want to completely eliminate our defenses in the War On Terror.

It is sad that this type of main streamed anti-American left wing propoganda exists without significant protest.

I searched and found no comment on this. It is very heavy handed, offensive left wing stuff.

You know it's fiction because in real life the Arab woman would be murdered by her family to avenge their honor at her having a lover in the first place.

I changed the channel as soon as I heard Glen Close repeating the same dialog as the Chinese guy.

I saw this Liberal clap-trap a few weeks ago, and I must confess I stayed with it, just to see how rediculous they were willing to let it go.....and they let it go all the way. I must add one very important item, however, that I thought I saw for certain at the end the show, assuming I read the facial expressions, nods and shakes of the prisoners heads correctly.

As the two interrogators use the exact same words, yet different styles and levels of pressure in their questioning, the American female, and the Arab male prisoners both respond with exactly the same words in their answers as well. But, at the end of the film, the male Chinese interrogator succeeds in totally breaking down the American female (a foreign student in China)and getting her to agree to and confess to his charges, as she sadly cowers on the floor, weeping and nodding her head. The female American interrogator, however, fails to get her male Arab prisoner to agree or confess, as although he too is broken, he defiantly shakes his head to say, "No."

The message....who knows? Certainly not the viewer! Americans are spys and Arabs are not? Both are spys but the Arab is strong, noble and loyal to the cause, while female American spys are none of the above? Chinese interrogators are kinder and more gentle, but get the job done, while Americans are mean and nasty, and fail as a result?

I will close by saying that you should consider none of my questions and that you need search no further. Watch this movie, and the obvious answer to them all is, "Who cares?"
