What is legitimate about that?

I'm thinking of cases like ectopic pregnancies, where removing the fetus to save the live of the mother kills the fetus. It's the principle of double-effect.

Double effect is not homocide provided that it is done in a legitimate way.

And not all procedures to remove ectopic pregnancies are approved by the Church.
