PORTLAND, Oregon (AP) -- If you were one of those kids who never got picked for the dodgeball team, you get a second chance.

The grade school game is now hot among young adults.

"It's ridiculously fun. It's high-energy, you don't stop moving. There's sensory overload," said Colleen Finn, who founded the Portland adult dodgeball league this year.

And throwing a ball hard at someone can be fun, too.

I loved dodgeball - and I was one of the nerdy geeks!

We used to play a version of it in high school with three balls and a no go zone. Lots of fun where jocks didn't always win.

I've been teaching dodgeball to my Cub Scout den. They love it.

Course, they're all homeschooled, so they have little concept of political correct mumbo-jumbo.

Hmmm. Mumbo...jumbo. That reminds me of one of my favorite childhood books that is also politically incorrect. The tale of Little Black Sambo.

Get yourself a grocery sack of used tennis balls, split the kids into two teams and let'em have at it.

That's awesome.

Right behind my house is a park. Kittycorner from my yard is the park's tennis courts. I have four kids.

park+tennis courts x 4 kids = overabundance of used tennis balls.

Ditto.

I hated gym class; running the mile was the end of the world it seemed like.

But...dodgeball rocked.

And I was a tiny kid who everyone tried to hit.

I was not athletic. I had a bad arm. But, it was fun throwing that ball and evading attempts at hitting me. I even got some people out.

I am planning on being a history teacher....once a week we are just going to have to play dodgeball or something for 15 minutes before starting class to release stress.

That's why I enjoyed it.

The dang jocks couldn't monopolize it; everyone got involved and had fun.

205, "Conjoined Fetus Lady". The South Park Cows win the national dodgeball championship and take on the Chinese team for the world title. Meanwhile, Mrs. Broslovsky decides to "celebrate the diversity" of the school nurse, embarrasing the modell out of her.
