A good summation of combat vs service support troops...

Support troops are generally issued only a basic load of ammo - 100 rounds. We played hell trying to get more, even when we were being hit and taking casualties every mission.

I thought a "basic load" was actually 200 rounds of ammo. That's what it was when I was an infantry officer. Is it different for support guys? What about sidearms? What's that basic load?
