Actually, it was on TV, with a mistaken report that it was a poor, innocent Iraqi wedding (at 2:45am), and that the wedding patrons were just "shooting in the air in an Arab tradition". Bogus news for a bogus press...

that is not that much money...now the SATCOM phone, THAT is an indication of something...not your typical "wedding" technology.

Who was providing channel access?

now the SATCOM phone

Note: it was described as a "SATCOM radio," not a phone.

If it isn't a phone...who's providing the access?

The See BS spin was, "even if it was a safe house raid, the Iraquis will still be mad at us."

PoohBah,

Who was providing channel access?

Undoubtedly our French and German allies provided the SATCOM communication codes, obtained during our "partnership" in the Balkans .... or just BOUGHT THEM outright from Hillary Clinton.

Did I just accuse Senator Hillary Clinton of High Treason ?

Damn Right I did.

Obviously Rumsfeld planted the SATCOM radio when he was in Iraq last week.

When I first heard the radio report, I thought "Oh, no, not this again!" This supposedly happened in Afghanistan in 2002. Now we read this! I think our mainstream media is well on it's way to a complete meltdown. Chris Mathews tonight would not take "Rumsfeld had nothing to do with it" as an answer. He is determined to pin "atrocities" on Bush and Rumsfeld, or destroy himself trying. I think he is much closer to the latter than the former. These people in the leftist press including the entertaiment elite, will have one massive nervous breakdown when Bush landslides to victory in November. This time, Alec Baldwin better leave, and take Michael Moore with him. Live in the south of France, see if we care!

Who cares who they were!! 3,000 innocents died on 9/11 and people here are blaming Bush, Rumsfeld, Rudy even Motorola!! If enough innocent Arabs die maybe Iraqis will start blaming their own "friends"

Troops recovered numerous weapons, 2 million Iraqi and Syrian dinars, foreign passports, and a SATCOM radio.

This is all Rumsfeld's fault.

He should know that nearly all Iraqi weddings include gifts of foreign passports, lavish amounts of Iraqi and Syrian dinars and the traditional Iraqi wedding gift: a SATCOM radio. It is no wonder we get such bad press in the Arab World (that includes the NYT, LAT, WP and the various Communist News Network and Communist Broadcasting System outlets) when we don't take the time to study the traditions and customs of the people who live in the countries that we illegally occupy.

We need to get rid of Rumsfeld and put Michael Moore or Kofi Annan in to run DOD. Until we do I can guarantee that we will continue to see the peace loving people of Iraq and their equally peace loving neighbors from Syria and Iran shot to pieces while trying to enjoy the simple pleasures of life like the tradional 3:00 AM Iraqi wedding celebration.
