MONTREAL - The mother of a teenager charged in connection with the firebombing of a Montreal Jewish school has been released on $10,000 bail.
Rouba Elmehebi Fahd, 36, was released Wednesday afternoon and ordered not to communicate with her son. The judge will decide next Tuesday whether to also release her 18-year-old son, Sleiman Elmerhebi.
Three people were arrested last Friday. Simon Zogheib, who along with Sleiman Elmerhebi is charged with conspiracy and arson, was released on bail on Monday. Rouba Elmehebi Fahd is accused of being an accessory after the fact.
The firebombing destroyed the library of the United Talmud Torah Elementary School.
A publication ban has been imposed by Quebec Court Judge Robert Sansfacon. That means none of the details can be reported and that his reasons for his decisions can't be made public.
