Zimbabwe MP fells minister
HARARE—A white opposition MP attacked a minister inside Zimbabwe's parliament yesterday in retaliation for "personal and racist abuse."
Roy Bennett, one of three white MPs, assaulted Justice Minister Patrick Chinamasa, after the minister said Bennett would never return to his farm.
The state-run Ziana news agency said Bennett "grabbed Chinamasa by the throat, shook him violently and pushed him to the ground."
Bennett, of the Movement for Democratic Change, has been chased off his land despite court orders in his favour. Some of Bennett's employees have been killed as militants have taken over his farm in support of the government's land reform program.
Parliament was to set up a committee to probe the incident
Especially after they voluntarily disarmed themselves.
