Tell Congress: Censure (Reprimand) Democrat Nancy Pelosi for Her Disgraceful Ad Hominem Attack

Many FReepers have been contacting me about various action items I have posted, saying that they were having difficulty getting the contact info for their Congressmen, Senators, etc.  Thus, I have gone ahead and purchased a "SoapBox Alert" on Congress.Org to enable FReepers to use the protest tactics of this left-wing site against the left wingers -- it directly enables you to contact your representatives and Senators (and makes it very easy).   I hope you make use of it.

This is the Action Item: Tell Congress: Censure (Reprimand) Democrat Nancy Pelosi for Her Disgraceful Ad Hominem Attack

Clicking here will take you to the item as well.  Here is the text of the item:

On 5/21, Minority Leader Pelosi said this:

"I believe that the president's leadership and the actions taken in Iraq demonstrate an incompetence in terms of knowledge, judgment, and experience," Pelosi told reporters gathered to hear her remarks.

"This president should have known ... when you decide to go to war you have to know what the consequences of your action are and how you can accomplish the mission," Pelosi said.

The House Democratic leader added, "There was plenty of intelligence to say there would be chaos in Iraq following the fall of Baghdad."

"Bush is an incompetent leader. In fact, he's not a leader. He's a person who has no judgment, no experience and no knowledge of the subjects that he has to decide upon."

"Not to get personal about it, but the president's capacity to lead has never been there," Pelosi said.

"In order to lead, you have to have judgment. In order to have judgment, you have to have knowledge and experience. He has none," she added.

This is an outrage.  Ms. Pelosi's comments are not a criticism of policy, but they are a direct, ad hominem (personal) attack on the President for mere political gain in a time of war -- and reckless ones at that, for they give our enemies aid and comfort.

The Republicans were quick (for once) to respond:

Bush-Cheney '04 Campaign Chairman Marc Racicot addressed John Kerry, saying, "As leader of the Democratic Party, John Kerry needs to repudiate Nancy Pelosi's efforts to blame American deaths in Iraq on the President. No one is to blame for these deaths in Iraq but the terrorists who are trying to prevent freedom from coming to the Middle East."

Republican National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie said, "To angry Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and Ted Kennedy, terrorists and militia aren't responsible for the deaths of U.S. soldiers, their commander-in-chief is. And our servicemen and women, in putting torture chambers 'under U.S. management,' are no different than a regime that systematically tortured, raped and killed its own people."

"The San Francisco/Boston Democrats led by John Kerry have now adopted Blame America First as their official policy," Gillespie continued in a statement issued to the press.

Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert (R-IL) said, "Mrs. Pelosi has the right to disagree with President Bush, and it is clear that she has a different vision from the President. But her comments questioning the President's competence cross the line."

"We are in the middle of a war and in the middle of a political campaign. Mrs. Pelosi's comments were meant to inspire her political base. But who else do they inspire? That is the question she should ask herself," Hastert continued.

"Her comments are also wrong," Hastert said.

Further, Hastert said, "Was it incompetence that put Saddam Hussein in jail? Was it incompetence that disbanded the Taliban? Was it incompetence that spurred the fastest economic growth rate in twenty years? Was it incompetence that created the highest home ownership rate in history?"

"Nancy Pelosi should apologize for her irresponsible, dangerous rhetoric," House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-TX) told CNN. "She apparently is so caught up in partisan hatred for President Bush that her words are putting American lives at risk."

For these reasons, I urge you to contact your Representatives and Senators today and DEMAND that they issue a formal Censure (reprimand) of Representative Pelosi.

Take action here.

Dear Representative and Senators,

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's derogatory remarks yesterday about President Bush went above and beyond rational discourse and in to the realm of outright slander. In fact, in my estimation her words and actions verge on sedition as defined in the Sedition Act of 1918, Section 3.

As a voting constituent in your districts, I demand that you call for an immediate censure of Representative Pelosi for her ad hominem attack on a sitting President.

Not that I think it will actually do any good.

Good or not, it's good to let them know that we're aware of what is going on -- and we don't like it.

Pelosi has the brain of a valley girl, the mouth of a phily lawyer, the credibility of a Maryland Bluecrab, and an undeniable dedication to her keepers. She's never held a job outside of politics and for good reason.

Keep doing what your doing Pelosi. You're your own worst enemy.

Here is what I wrote to Senators Bob Graham (D) and Bill Nelson (D). Also my congressman Rick Keller (R):

Nancy Pelosi's comments about the leader of the Free World are outrageous. I respectfully DEMAND each of you publicly admonish this poor excuse for an American.

Politicizing the war is shameful and I am making sure everyone I know recognizes that Democrats like her and Ted (the swimmer) Kennedy are increasing the risk to our country and troops. The radical Islamists are trying to do to America what they've done in Spain through intimidation and terrorism, and it is what they are trying to do here.

And the Pelosis of the world are doing there best to help things along in their quest for political power.

IF YOU GUYS DON'T SAY SOMETHING, IT WILL BE NOTICED.

Thanks for this thread..will do my part.

Know what I think? I think someone who has the capability to monitor Al-jazeer and other media in the area ought to see if they are playing this story.

For that matter..I think they ought to see how many democrats are being shown castrating this country, this military and this administration in foreign countries.

They should then be shown to this country..so people finally get that these actions are harming us. Sometimes I think people here think everyone is living in a tent and don't have communications over there.

Again..thanks alot for the thread!

Sent mine by email (cuz it was free) to Boxer, Feinstein & Dooley - all democraps. Here's what I said . . . for what it's worth . . . they use it for toilet paper. Here it is anyway:

Nancy Pelosi made ridiculous, but dangerous, statements about President Bush and the war effort. Doesn't she realize that our soldiers are giving their all over there?!

When Nancy Pelosi makes politically-motivated statements about the war she is telling the world that our soldiers are fighting and dying for NOTHING! I for one am grateful to our military for they are fighting the war on terror OVER THERE and NOT HERE!

Furthermore, when Nick Berg had his head cut off, I guess Nancy thinks it's George Bush's fault, not the five hooded monsters who did the ghoulish deed.

You democrats cannot have it both ways. You cannot say you are patriotic and support the troops at the same time you are demeaning the Commander In Chief and our Troops.

The abuse of Iraqi prisoners is being handled. Those guilty will be punished. To continue to dwell on it and publicize it 'round the world is a political ploy that is going to backfire on all of us. YOU ARE PUTTING OUR FAMILIES AT RISK! You are fanning the flames. For God's sake, let the military take care of it.

Nancy Pelosi is not capable of making life-and-death military decisions, she can't even make wise decisions for her little part of California. What a hypocrite! Aren't you embarrassed?

I am offended that the media - and the democrats for the most part - seem to be focused on President Bush and Donald Rumsfeld instead of on our Troops. It's so obvious you are hoping to hurt the President's chances for reelection.

How sad for you that Nick Berg's head got lopped off. How disappointed you must be - not because of what happened to that fine young man but because it made YOU look bad for criticizing our military for even being there in the first place.

Please tell the democrats to KNOCK IT OFF! Especially Nancy Pelosi. She is a disgrace to this country. She should be held accountable for her vicious negative rhetoric.

She is THE pig. And what's worse, I don't think the pig is sincere even while bashing Bush. Just like Kennedy, all talk, all negative, no plan.

Yep, sure seems like Pelosi & Kennedy have committed Sedition to me;

TREASON, SEDITION, AND SUBVERSIVE ACTIVITIES
Title 18, Part I, Chapter 115, Sec. 2387. of the US Code;

(a) Whoever, with intent to interfere with, impair, or influence the loyalty, morale, or discipline of the military or naval forces of the United States:

(1) advises, counsels, urges, or in any manner causes or attempts to cause insubordination, disloyalty, mutiny, or refusal of duty by any member of the military or naval forces of the United States; or
distributes or attempts to distribute any written or printed matter which advises, counsels, or urges insubordination, disloyalty, mutiny, or refusal of duty by any member of the military or naval forces of the United States -

Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction.

Sec. 2388. Activities affecting armed forces during war

a) Whoever, when the United States is at war, willfully makes or conveys false reports or false statements with intent to interfere with the operation or success of the military or naval forces of the United States or to promote the success of its enemies; or

Whoever, when the United States is at war, willfully causes or attempts to cause insubordination, disloyalty, mutiny, or refusal of duty, in the military or naval forces of the United States, or willfully obstructs the recruiting or enlistment service of the United States, to the injury of the service or the United States, or attempts to do so -

Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

Title 18 is a kick-a$$ section of the US Code. Now will Ashcroft ever use it?

Wish one of the talking heads would just read this during prime time with a picture of Pelosi and Kennedy on display while they read it. But I don't think anyone has guts to do it.

You need to add a pre-written letter to your soapbox alert. I already know how to contact my congressman and senators.....the soap box alerts I usually get has a pre-written letter..that is what saves me time.

You're kidding, right? They won't censure the fat drunken swimmer for constantly towing the line and you think for one second, they will censure this ugly she-male? They will probably nominate her for a Nobel Peace Prize!

But it is worth a shot, and you got my vote of confidence!
