the owners of Kelsey, the Labrador retriever who chased the cougar up a tree, received an e-mail calling their dog a "traitor to animal-kind."

"Waving our arms around, shouting, and trying to look big is no way to go through life."

You're right.

Then again..I'm still wiggling on the ground to confuse Malvo and his other sniper friend, just as Chiefly Moose advised us to, until they officially tell me to stop...

...then again...I enjoy it !

The Labrador remark sounds like something from the Onion. It is amazing that it is a dead serious statement. Give that dog a biscuit or two for having more sense the some of the people.

I was laughing my butt off reading that. Some people have made a fine art of not using the brain God gave them. The funny thing is that these morons would be the first screaming that 'not enough was done' if that thing ate a child. Proof positive that libs have less brains than your average Labrador.

This was posted the other day. The owner of the dog has been under a lot of criticism from his neighbors who erected a MEMORIAL to the cat! The man (whose name was Furrier --strange coincidence, but, true) commented that had his children, aged 3 & 5, been chewed and slain by that cat that he doubted that the neighbors would have erected a memorial for them!

I say give the dog a medal!

"Obviously the animal was not posing a threat to anyone. It was in a tree."

That is one of the ways they hunt, nimrod. They lurk in trees and plummet down, bring you to the ground and tear your throat out.

Yes.

Old news. That actually happened a few years ago in that same area of California.

And people sometimes wonder why I moved to Alabama instead of California. In this great state, we wouldn't have had to wait for a trained professional to kill this big cat, he would have been dead before he attacked the horses. Nor would we have been criticized for lacking adequate firepower.

"Mountain lions, though rare, have killed at least six Californians over the past 114 years and mauled eight more."

The terrorisim analogy works. It’s really pretty harmless until you let fear compromise your common sense.

... written tributes left at the base of the tree, including this eulogy: "Your death will not be in vain. Tears are shed for you, and this brutality will inspire ACTION. You are loved."

NOTE TO EULOGY WRITERS: Mountain lions cannot read, even when dead!

Stanford should be declared a zoo, fenced off with barbed wire and the denizens feed only peanuts from 9am to 5pm, closed on Sundays.

Unbelievable. I suppose the animal "rights" freaks would whine about that rattle snake I shot the head off last night when it was menacing my cat. Well, just put that on the long list of things I'll burn in hell for. The war protesters and the eco freaks have the same mind set....empty space.

This lion wasn't in the fringe of town, near the wilderness. It was right in the middle of town.

This reminds me of the shoot out with the Symbionese Liberation Army back in the 1970's when the police came under full-auto machine gun fire.
After it was over and the bad guys dead, some callers to a tv station said the police over reacated and should have used firehoses to wash the bad guys out of the house.

>>>A professor I know correctly instructed his children that, should they encounter the beast, they should shout and raise their arms over their heads to look big, in order to frighten it off.

That is funny.....I thought you were suppose to sing to it.?.

I absolutely cherish animals, especially dogs. But good grief! This is beyond pathetic. We are going to find out in November whether or not the majority of our electorate is this soft and stupid. If so, we'll be very easy pickings for the Islamofreaks and international Left (who'll finish us off then turn on each other).

Stories like this really signal the decline of our civilization. We have people who are willing to hack our heads off to win and we are crying because a cop had to put down a mountain lion? I am an animal lover and no one wants to kill a beautiful animal like that but if its crusing a residential neighborhood and you don't have a tranq gun what else can you do? Hope it stays in the tree until animal services gets there? I suppose that could have been an option but a risky one. Can you imagine how far these insane libs would get trying to populate the west in the 1800's? "Ohh oohh don't shoot the poor bear, he only took my right arm, I still have another!"
Common Sense-Missing in Action!!
