There should be no problem - Bush and the White House have already released all reporters from any confidentiality in these regards ... it's just a question of how much press Russert wants to get out of the deal & it's common knowlege you don't want to be in the way of Little Russ and a TV camera ROFLMAO

A New Jersey native, Cooper is a 1984 graduate of Columbia College in New York City and lives in Washington D.C. with his wife, Mandy Grunwald, and their son.

The scary-toothed Mandy Grunewald, Hillary chum extraordinaire, could very well have been the person who tipped her husband off. She would have known Wilson's wife's profession...heck, they probably all went to the same cocktail parties.
That would be her .. and as Miss Marple stated .. the plot thickens

I didn't think of this last night. (duh)
I have followed this story but it never stuck in my mind (I can't remember if I saw it before) that Matt Cooper was involved, although I knew full well who his wife is. It didn't click when I read this last night, but I think you're on to something.
It is outright laughable, IMO, this notion that's given out that Plame's "name" (they mean profession) was "leaked" to "ruin" Joe Wilson. It has always been obvious it was given by way of explanation for the outrageousness that he would ostensibly sent on any mission on behalf of an administration he blatantly despised. The "ruin/leak" story the was given out later just for the spite and political machinations of it all.
A Wilson/Plamegate thread is not complete without my noting that I hope and pray this grand jury indicts this duo--Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame.
I heartily agree that I hope they are indicted. I also am interested in this grand jury, because I am thinking they might be investigating more than the Wilson flap.
No AP or Reuters wire story about this development, either.
Well at least Google/Seattle Times did post a photo of Timmy looking concerned.
I am going to keep an eye out for further developments, as I really, really think there is something else going on.
Nail 'em
Verry interesting(Arte Johnson voice inflection from Laugh-In). When I first saw the first mention of this on Fox this morning, I did a google search and only 6 stories come up and none with a wire service source. And three hours later, still no wire service(AP, Reuters) reporting of this development.
The Wash Compost did report but it was buried on A-11 of their edition.
The NYT editors are probably peeing their pants and still trying to figure out on how to write the story, IMO.
