Took a minute to place it as it looked familiar- the white pillars in the background are the lower pylons of the new Lanier bridge.
Protesting has become a hobby for these people. It's the 'in' thing to do for the radical, frothing-at-the-mouth leftists. They don't care about anyone or anything.
How about China. They wouldn't tolerate the BS these 'protestors' pull.
Yes, I believe in people's right to protest, but these are rabble rousers looking to pick a fight. Nothing more than a gang.
I have always called them Professional Malcontents...
I note with some pleasure the articles I linked above counted their numbers as "10" and "30" at their last gatherings here- a far cry from their claimed "10,000."
The ones I passed marching into Brunswick last week were sweat-drenched, hot, tired, and strung out along US 17... it was obvious to me that they had no idea of the heat and distances and isolation involved in walking from Jacksonville to Brunswick.
No doubt they looked at a map and thought "Gee, it doesn't look very far at all! We'll just march up there and get some publicity!" What their maps didn't show them is the endless miles between towns, the lack of "facilities"- for food, water, or relieving oneself- the endless swamps, forests, and waterways beside the road, or the simple fact that most of us Southerners, while polite to a fault, really have no use for people like them who hate America and Americans.

(Sea Island as in cotton, as in slaves)
As one born and bred on the Island, I can tell you they get it about half right, in between the little digs like the above.
The nearest national comparison I can think of would be to the Key West of 35+ years ago, but even that is inexact, for there were differences, subtle and not.
There's an old Arab saying, "the little Jackal barks, but the caravan continues on in the night," and so it will be here- we'll go on quite well after this is over & forgotten. As it will be inside of a week.
