The Clinton's and their DNC cohorts would love to get Christians all in one state and do a Waco on them.

This is silly. If very religious Christians don't want to associate with lefty secularists, there are far less extreme methods than seccession. For example, a Christian developer could form a private religious town.

Federal anti-discrimination laws would probably prevent de jure discrimination against secularists, but if a developer says "This town of 5,000 people is for God-fearing Christians. Our police will enforce strict blue laws, morality codes etc." I highly doubt non-Christians would choose to live in that town.

Once secluded in such a town, would it really matter if the state the town was located in permitted abortion or pornography or homosexual marriage... 50 miles away?? I highly doubt it would impact residents of such a town, or their children, at all.

Orthodox Jews and the Amish have been doing this for decades -- look at towns such as Monsey or Kiryas Joel in New York, for example. There's no reason Christians couldn't do the same.

Well, darn! That makes two (2) states that are going to have to succeed from the Union, One for the Libertarians in the cold frozen North East and one for the Christians in the warm sandy South East. Could Start a fad.

If they get the Palmetto State, I hope it won't turn out like the Taliban's Afghanistan, with religious police, etc.

Using one of the original 13 to form a theocracy is ironic, to say the least.

As soon as they all get there, they'll start fighting amongst themselves regarding who will be in charge. Ha! It'll never work.

Did you all catch the segment about this Christian Nation idea on Hannity and Colmes tonight (actually last night)? That guy named Cory who is pushing the web site christianexodus.org was the guest.

I'm glad to see the publicity, but I thought Sean Hannity came across as a real dope. He acted like we are making so much progress in the U.S so there's no need for a Christian nation. He doesn't seem to have a clue.

Seems nobody took my "hint" that I was retiring from this discussion and so continued to post stuff to me. Well, all I can say is that I notice that NOBODY seems to be able to answer the question I asked, and it's the ONLY remaining interest I have in this discussion: What happens when it fails ? (and you KNOW it will)

Oh yeah, one more thing - If this were Muslims instead of Christians this whole forum would be a blaze of fury.

As far as various biblical interpretations go, all I can say is if there is more than one interpretation of a thing, at least one of them is wrong. Claiming there are two "main" views on a certain topic means absolutely nada.

Bye now.

Perhaps they should target Alaska, small population, conservative and plenty of oil.

I guess they do not like the cold weather.

With the level of dissent amongst those of Christian faith on this forum (on just about any issue) is any indicator, this new "nation" would be the worst thing for both democracy and christianity.

The last time we had christian theocracy in this world, the entire system collapsed under its own "holier-than-thou" corruption. Of course that was pre-reformation, we are so much more enlightened now.

Do christian americans really think they can form a tolerant theocracy? It can never happen. No amount of faith and bible reading can keep a hypothetical entity like this from becoming an abomination. Those that would join such an enterprise really haven't thought it through and are willing to sacrifice christianity in order to save it.

You already have the best place in the world to be a christian in the United States. Nobody promised it would be perfect or wouldn't be a struggle to maintain religious freedom in the US, especially in a cultural environment we find ourselves in today.....fight for it if you really want it.

Shame on everyone who professes a willingness to join such an immoral fools errand in the name of God.

For those of you who are miserable living here and wish to go: Bon Voyage.

People who don't want to be here should just get out. Fat chance. They'd rather whine while staying.

There's no need to start another nation. Just start a PR campaign on the truth...

"It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here."

"The Bible is worth all other books which have ever been printed."

"Bad men cannot make good citizens. A vitiated state of morals, a corrupted public conscience are incompatible with freedom."
- Patrick Henry

"We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion...Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."
- John Adams, October 11, 1798

May I suggest Texas? Among other things, it is shaped more or less like a cross. (Good omen.)

The one thing that gives the U.S. in its present form its staying power is the financial system.

The entire country is addicted to the fiat money system foisted unconstitutionally upon it in the early 20th century. As long as we all have mortgages, we will be slaves and effectively co-conspirators.

When you buy a house with a mortgage and expect it to rise in value, you are giving the green light to the Fed to continue printing fake fiat money, devaluing the savings of all dollar-owners and contributing to our continuing reliance on the government in Washington.
