With deep condolences, this just reinforces my conviction that a
large percentage of the American voting public is insane.
What is intolerable is that the same insane are allowed to serve if elected.
A modest proposal: make a test for sanity a requirement for holding public office. Kill two birds with one stone...

I have noticed the connection only in recent weeks.
It seemed every antiwar nut I ran across was a self proclimed athiest or not religious at all.
They are lost in life and lash out at government and anything that they can blame.
There is no hope in their souls. No understanding of sacrifice. No center to lean on when they are afraid.
I pity them, but I will not cut them any slack.
Ran into one last night on the forum.

"It seems that our President has made it LAW that ALL Vietnam Vets, even up to age 65,
are now eligible to be drafted back into the military to be sent to the Middle East."
I wish this was true.
I tried getting back in the Navy since 9/11 but told I was I too old.
The Oregon National Guard told me the same thing.
So I joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Send me instead of someone else.
There are people over there that are my age, 55.
I'd gladly trade places with anyone there.

One final thought. Sometimes even the obvious needs to be statwed. Granted, the insane or abusers of adult beverages may remain oblivious: If we are ever attacked from without or by sleepers, I consider it my duty to
voluntarily go fight. No callup required. And I'm way over 50.
The difference between men and big-mouthed mice.

You make me feel there are still REAL honest-to-goodness men out there, ready and willing to protect my female arse. I thank you more than you know, just for being who you are. It makes me miss my late, all man dad, who would die not only to protect his family, but his fellow neighbors as well.

It gets better. My birthday is 9/12. So she called and remarked that "Someone sure is grumpy on his birthday."
I was speechless. Now I'm nearly mute.

My sister said September 11 was "weird".Geez...you think that's bad, one of the dimwit 23 y/o relatives of my grandson (the OTHER side of the family)stated at my grandson's birthday party that "It would be so-o-o cool to have a President that snowboards". I thought...good grief...these people actually VOTE!

They are right, you know. Now we just need to find a President who can snowboard. Not just for a photo op, where he can blame security for tripping him up. Now, I could see President Bush snowboarding and doing it right.

[ I told him he needs to find a new radio station. He swears that EVERYBODY knows this, and it's ALL OVER THE NEWS, an assertion which I find amusing, since my radio runs for easily 12 hours a day. ]
Eggs your brother simply thinks your stoopid..
As the "DU" thinks we all are here. Well, eggs the "DU", is... (well you know)... LoL..

It would be cooler if the guy could stay ON the snowboard. ;)
Between my Dem mom who wrote Clinton during the impeachment and offered her support (she kept his written reply, still has it locked up I think), and my younger impolitical brother who believes everything his Michael Moore/Howard Stern obssessed friends tell him, I've taken to staying dumb around mom and forwarding facts to my brother. I finally convinced (I think) my brother that Jeb Bush DID NOT stop Moore's movie from being made due to some tax scheme in Florida for Disney... and this was right before Moore himself claimed he made it all up.
That's today anyway. Who knows what he'll believe tomorrow?

I would ask him when Congress passed this, and what the Bill number is. I haven't heard this yet.
Ask him if you would allow him to be recorded making those statements, and then play them back for him and let him hear how he sounds.
That, or find a new brother :o)
To: EggsAckley
Your brother is gullible. My suggestkion: get a DNA test. Even if you have to use a friend's blood. Make sure that it is "found out" that you are really not related to him. Keep your sanity and stay away from him.:)

Not only agree with your comments but I've learned that 1.75X reading glasses ($7.95 on sale at the supermarket) clear up the front sight just fine.
