Democrats were in a full-court press yesterday, criticizing President Bush for an administration document they say directs federal agencies to prepare preliminary 2006 budgets that cut spending for education, veterans benefits and other key programs after the 2004 election.

It directs associate directors and deputies of federal programs to "assume accounts are funded at the 2006 level specified in the 2005 budget database," and, if they propose any increase above that level, it must be offset with cuts in other areas.

Once again, limited increases are "cuts".

"cutting investment in important domestic programs ... and running away from his campaign promises to support them"

I hope they aren't paying the person who writes this crap too much!

Washington D.C.

Where an increase in funding that's not large enough is a cut.

Flip-Flop uses the same logic when says he wants to "roll back" the tax cuts on the so-called rich. Unfortunately, I don't pay my taxes to Walmart and can't get everyday low prices from the IRS. But Tah-ray-zah can.

anyone that thinks that making hay out of budget cuts will help the RATS this year is crazy!! RAts have made an issue of fiscal prudence, Americans think government is too big. Most will think now that jobs are on the increase government should be on the decrease. For the President to have a PLAN makes him look better not worse.

Now would probably be a good time to start roling out those memos that the Republicans got their hands on. Start publishing all the RAT talking points, the Kennedy affirmative action plan the 9/11 rebuttal document, all of them.

Put the rats back on the defensive,
