"Militants Holding 50 Foreigners Hostage in Saudi"

Saudi security forces stormed an expatriate residential complex Saturday seeking gunmen who had taken hostages after a shooting rampage on two compounds housing oil company offices, killing at least 10 people — including a 10-year-old boy.

The manager of a Saudi housing complex says militants still holding 50 hostages.

At least one American and two other Westerners were among those killed in the second deadly attack on oil industry targets in the Saudi kingdom this month.

According to Reuters, an Islamist Web site carried the following message: "With the grace of God, a squadron of our heroic mujahideen have today stormed American companies... that are specialised in oil and which steal the wealth of Muslims," and was signed "al Qaeda network in the Arabian Peninsula."

FoxNews had it as breaking news -- but then they added the details (see above) to their rather existing article.

On TV FoxNews said that some of the hostages are Americans, but it seems it didn't make it into their article on the web.

God Bless the Americans that are hostage, and I know I may get chastised for this here, but.... enough is enough no dealing no negotiation... grease 'em lay down some ordanace and send in the clean up crews...

This may be hard to hear, but we need to act as if those hostages are already dead. If any are freed in the assault, that will be wonderful, but the terrorists must die.

Any negotiations are a victory for the terrorists.

I'm not very religious at all, but I think its time to say a prayer for the hostages, no matter what religion they are. Saudis will almost always behead a armed gunman, so these guys have nothing to loose.

So, Ashcroft says there is increased terrorist chatter and that we should be more vigilant; and the media elites call him a liar and political opportunist. Will Khobar teach them anything? Dare I pose such a stupid question?

Any negotiations are a victory for the terrorists.

That's true because it encourages the terrorists, and this sets many other potential kidnapping victims at risk. It's a hard fact of life, but rewarding them leads to even more kidnappings.

What a joke, the Saudis would still be holding camel races and living in the 12th century without Western technology because they can't/won't learn it themselves.

Funny how that sounds just like typical DNC press release these days, isn't it?

It just goes to show you have times have changed. For the worse, in my opinion.

Even a committed socialist, and dove-relatively speaking-like Golda Meir refused to negotiate with the communist faction of Fatah, when they sent gunmen to slaughter innocent school children.

Compare that to Ariel Sharon's hands-off policy with regard to Yasser Arafat.

Funny. They still hold camel races and most of the country is still in the 12th century.

Not only the terrorists in the compound, but their mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, wives, and children. Take terror home to the terrorists.

I agree.
I have come to believe that American policy must explicitly state that any and all hostages are considered officially dead.
