You know, Joe, I agree that we need stronger border security, and immigration reform, but if you think that we can patrol every inch of our borders and keep all the bad guys out, you aren't being even slightly realistic.

The way this war on terror is being fought is getting to the heart of the problem in the heart of the breeding ground for terrorists.

And I, for one, am thankful to have a President who isn't afraid to solve problems head on.

But it never happened, and we are at risk from not only terrorist cake walking in here, but also literally *millions* that continue to flood our country creating titanic fraud, crime, bringing in hundreds of tons of drugs, while completely choking off our social services. No country on earth can endure this indefinitely.

Didn't anyone notice that the birds were really loud when the reporters were speaking but not when President Bush was speaking? The President was magnificent today.

Look, lots of people love to hate America, there are bad guys all over the globe that want to kill American's, and have done so, and they plan to kill more.

Do you suggest we invade and occupy every country where this occurs? I don't think we have enough troops for that? My suggestion would be to once and for all make it difficult for anyone to enter this country, by implementing real immigration reform. All this talk about terrorism yet our borders have gone basically unsecured since 911 and no real immigration reform was ever implemented. To this day we have thousands of trucks with unknown loads entering from mexico, a country that can be bribed to do anything for a few bucks. To this day, thousands from the mid east continue to pour into our country on visas.

Look, Joe, your feud with Marple aside, I happen to think that your heart is in the right place. However, you do yourself no good setting up a straw man argument to knock down. No one wants to go into every country that has people that want to kill us. That's simply not a serious response. However, your call to make it more difficult to enter our country is sound, but it reveals a defensive mindset.

You can't kill all the islamos that want to kill us. Can't be done.

But they can be humiliated and forced to retreat from our homeland to theirs. The object isn't to kill them all, only the effective ones, the leaders, the keepers of the jihadist flame.

Seems to me we ought to be protecting our own homeland for a change. Isn't this what it's all about? Or am I missing something?

And here is where you are missing something. You can tighten up the borders all you want. The jihadists will still get through. We are fated to fight over there to try to keep them constantly off balance and on the strategic defensive. If we followed your advice, a nuclear attack on this country would become a certainty. As it is, remaining on the offensive over there makes a nuclear attack on our country by the jihadist brotherhood only a strong probability.

Tightening the borders gives us no real shot at deflecting such an attack, if that is your only tactic. OTOH, if you mix this tactic with offensive operations overseas against the bad guys, we might remain lucky.

Although I rather doubt it. The Arab, you see, has a suicidal impulse to bite off more than he can chew. This allows him to count coup in front of the other Arabs. You see, Joe, they honestly believe that we would allow international niceties to prevent us from exterminating their civilization. They are deadly wrong, imho, but that will not stop them from trying.

Be Seeing You,

Chris
