You don't need bars and clubs to find the right person. I cannot understand why so many couples in their twenties appear perfectly happy to cohabit for YEARS before deciding to marry. It's as if they think being married young means they'll never enjoy life again! A number of relatives have done this and I just don't get the point...if you love your partner and want to build a future together, then GET MARRIED.

I think my fiance and I are just an old-fashioned kind of couple, but we believe in marriage and having a family...there's no reason why we can't also enjoy our careers and some modest material possessions at the same time, but those things are certainly no reason to POSTPONE marriage and family!

An entire article about dating and sex in the modern era, and not a single mention of HIV, AIDS or other sexually-transmitted diseases.

There's a LOT to be said for marrying your high school sweetheart at age 18 or 19, having a lot of babies, and being a grandma or grandpa at age 45. I didn't do it that way, but I would encourage our kids all the way if that was their choice. It would save them from a lot of promiscuity, heartache, STDs, etc.

They (those flinging about & not committing) seem to be a bunch of selfish, short-sighted idiots who are somehow surprised when they find themselves still single when in their thirties!

What is wrong with their brains?

I like the idea of a five-year plan of marriage, where you can renew your vows every five years rather than make a commitment for life.

I always knew that the societal acceptance of the leasing of cars would doom our society.

I'm 36--been married twice. I'll never, ever do that again. I can find nothing a man gains out of marriage...

A woman demands a man that is fun and prudent and attractive and honorable and a Good Dancer and makes lots of money and drives a flashy car and gives her money and independence and did I mention a Good Dancer?

So a woman wants all that. What does the guy get out of it?

An improvident, overemotional halfwit who has the mighty power of the law to ruin his life at her word. I don't understand any of it anymore.

Of course I'm bitter.
