Detroit destroyed the Lakers in Game 1, with only Scott out of the lineup. The difference between Scott and Cooper wasn't 25 points.
We saw how the two teams matched up the year before. A Detroit team with Mahorn, Laimbeer, and Salley playing hurt the entire series (and with Isiah hurt the last 16 minutes of game 6 and all of game 7) took the Lakers to 7 games (and don't get me started about the phantom foul). Oh, but one year later, with the Pistons all healthy, the Lakers would have beat Detroit "like a drum". Sure.
Beefed up? He makes Barkley look svelte.
Not trying to be a smarty, but why? Aesthetically speaking, I'd rather look at someone's oversize shorts than have to look at someone's oversize thighs. The large shorts are much more comfortable to wear, IMO, and help to keep legs warm and stuff.

Scott was averaging 20 ppg in the postseason, and Cooper was about as 12 ppg player. That's two thirds of the margin right there.
Sigh. Suppose my starting first baseman hits 20 home runs in 2003 and the backup first baseman hit 5 home runs in 2003. Now suppose the starter blows out a knee in APril 2004 and is replaced by the backup. Does that mean that the replacement, now starting, will only hit 5 home runs in 2004?
Magic went down in the third quarter of game two. The Lakers lost that by THREE POINTS! Now the Lakers have lost FORTY POINTS PER GAME from their offense, plus all of Magic's assists.
Uh, you're assuming that the replacements would be held scoreless?
The Pistons won the four games by an average of 9.25 points per game. Are you going to tell me forty + points of offense every night wouldn't have made the difference? Please!
If the replacements were held scoreless, I'd concede your point. They weren't held scoreless. And Detroit didn't come into the series playing crappy. They swept both regular season games vs. the Lakers. They finished with a better regular season record than the Lakers. They were 11-2 in the playoffs when the finals started--and the two losses were to a team led by the best player in the history of the league.
If the Pistons 4-0 1989 sweep gets an asterisk due to Laker injuries, then I'm sure you'll agree that the Lakers' 1988 4-3 win gets an asterisk due to Laimbeer, Mahorn, Salley, and Isiah playing injured.
So Detroit's players should be penalized for being tough enough to play while hurt. Okay, gotcha.
Your post is so ludicrous, it really doesn't warrant a response, but I will say this. I do need to read no damn books, I watched every game!
BTW, The ONLY chance the Pistons have this year is if the Laker's plane crashes on the way to Michigan.
