It seems what they are doing is trying to get all the leftist agenda items locked up that they can. They know that if GWB wins in November, the SC and Judicial system could drastically shift toward the right. The next President will undoubtedly seat 2, if not 3, SC Justices and the next Chief Justice.

By padding and 'legalizing' as many of 'their issues' as they can now, they lock the system against rightist overturnings.

The leftist agenda isn't just for elective offices.
