Swedish Teenagers Charged with School Massacre Plan

STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - Swedish prosecutors charged two teenage boys with planning an armed attack on their school on the sixth anniversary of the shootings at Columbine in the U.S. which claimed 15 lives, authorities said on Wednesday.

The two, aged 16 and 17, planned to "rob as many people as possible of their lives" by attacking the Slottsstadens school in the southern city of Malmo with home-made bombs and guns, according to the prosecutor's charge sheet seen by Reuters.

The attack was planned for April 20, 2005, the sixth anniversary of the shootings at Columbine High School when two pupils murdered 12 students and a teacher before killing themselves, the charge sheet said.

The older Swedish boy has admitted planning the attack but the younger boy has denied the charges, the prosecutor's office said.

According to the charge sheet police found material on the younger student's computer which describes the two boys training with rifles and explosives and a plan of how the attack on the school would be carried out.

Police also recovered chemicals which the charges allege could have been used for criminal acts.

According to the prosecutor's office, the two boys face a variety of other charges including attempted robbery. The younger of the two has also been charged with sexual molestation and child pornography and possession of a hunting rifle.

I don't doubt it one bit. In fact, since the younger kid was "charged with sexual molestation and child pornography...", Moore will find some convoluted, made-up connection to this "poor child's sexual repression" and conclude that "it's all Bush's fault!" < /sarcasm>

Teenage boy arrested for involvement in murder.
A 16 year old boy has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the murder of a 17 year old woman in Malmö. The woman's head was found in Bokskogen outside Malmö last autumn. A 23-year old man is detained on suspicion of having killed her.

MALMÖ. The 16 year old boy was arrested in his absence on Tuesday and was taken in on Wednesday. He is suspected of "grave protection of criminal" and, like the 23 year old, crime against "grave peace".

- As such he is suspected of having been involved in cutting up the woman and taken away the body. He is not suspected of murder, but crime in the following phase, says prosecutor Mats Svensson.

The police investigation points towards that the 18 year old woman was murdered and cut up in the 23 year old's apartment december 20, 2002. The 23 year old denies any crime but admits that he was in the apartment at that time.

The 23 year old man was the 18 year old woman's previous boyfriend and the now arrested is a friend of him. - He has not said anything in the interrogations, but wants a defender first, says Mats Svensson.

The 23 year old man was detained the first time march 11. But the suspicions against him arose already some days after the 18 year old woman's cranium was found in Bokskogen, October 2003.

The man was detained on wednesday by Malmö court on probable grounds suspected of murder and crime against "grave peace".

I also read today of another case where a 16 year old was arrested for child pornography, in the same area.

And as I'm writing this, a news report says someone was shot in the head twice in a square in Malmö.

Also, the news don't mention their origin, but I know that the younger of the two boys in the main topic here was not Swedish, from where he was, I do not know, but his father was on TV, and that was not a Swedish accent. Malmö has a problem with some areas which are filled with middle eastern and Somalian immigrants, causing an improportionate amount of the crime. The local media won't say this of course.
