"Heres the latest: An 11-year-old kid finds an unloaded .22-caliber pistol with a part missing which rendered the gun inoperable. Not knowing what to do with it, he took it to his school principals office and turned it in. The principal then turned kid in...to the cops. "
Stupid principal! But I guess they never had the Eddie Eagle program in that school. If they had, the boy would have known not to touch the pistol, but to report it to an adult.
Still, this is a stupid way to treat the boy.
Just goes to show how stupid society has become.
If he had taken it to the police they would probly arrested him on the spot, easier than going to the school to get him.
I remember, back in the bronze age, when I was 11. Was proficient with pistols, rifles and shotguns. Daddy started teaching me about firearms when I was about 6. When I was 12 we went hunting for deer and my weapon was an old Springfield 30.06. Could handle it fine and took down lots of deer with it.
God forbid anyone teach his kids that kind of stuff in this insane PC world.

That's what I tell my kids. And after I was at a friend's house and he pulls out some $3,000 rifle (HK?) that was light gray plastic and looked like it was from Star Wars, I told them don't even pick up what may look like a TOY gun! (Although if they found an HK, I suppose I should have them report that directly to me. ;-)
Fish shaped water-squirters are okay to touch though. (from another thread).
"Eddie Eagle program" ??
Sounds like another leftist radical feel good anti-gun make the kids dumber program that even so-called conservatives think is appropriate.
Maybe if you taught the kids respect and proper behavior instead --- at home!
