Nothing personal, but I wish somebody would modify the title to say Washington State or remove this from breaking news. I almost had a heart attack when I looked at the Breaking News Sidebar. I thought we under attack.

"Western Washington" is like saying "Upstate New York" or "Southern California." We're just not as well known. Perhaps FR will help correct that through such threads as this. I've not heard of DC having a western side, eastern, northern, etc.
I note you are from Connecticut and can understand your concern. It's a big country.
