A Powell/Condi ticket would give Demonrats fits. Would African Americans favor it? Many would, but not nearly a majority. The Republican taint would obviate all other considerations for them. However, the ticket would be a likely winner. They are not going to be nominated, especially on the same ticket. And didn't Powell express a disinclination to run for president years ago?

It would, but I think they are both more socially liberal than a lot of Repubs would be comfortable with. Either way, I think both of them have had enough with the politics and are headed back to the private sector. Powell's gone after this term.
