Old media, Old political party, Old hippies

The Old media, the old political party, and the old hippies are all a dying breed. June 1, 2004

Democrats of all stripes have outlived their usefulness. Assuming that they actually had any usefulness to America in the first place. Remember, this is the party that didn’t want Lincoln to go to war, and were ready to cede the South from the Union (and therefore to slavery), being that most southerners were Democrats anyway. The term for the anti-war Democrats, especially in the North, was Copperheads, and I think we aught to resurrect that term today. These “Peace Democrats” were opposed to the war and were intent on accepting a negotiated peace with the South resulting in an independent Confederate States of America. Of course, they would have also been accepting the Confederate’s Constitutionality of slavery without putting up a fight, but when has the humanity of any other human on Earth ever been the actual concern of a Democrat?

Their entire leadership is cranky, undereducated, self-centered, drunk, botoxed, and out-of-touch with the modern 21st Century world. (Sidebar: speaking of out-of-touch, have you seen the cover picture of “Hillary” on her book, and the recent portrait painting of her? Sheeesh, talk about out of touch. /End Sidebar.) Democrats have recently become like the old man in his tattered robe and torn slippers standing on the porch shaking a newspaper at the kids to get off his lawn. Their youngest leader is a junior senator, The HildeBeast, now pushing 60.

The rat party has no new ideas, no motivation, no creativity, no solutions. These old jackasses offer nothing but socialism by the shovel full. There simply isn't any new blood coming into the rat party to pick up the hammer and sickle.

Their hippie followers are no better. They cannot cope with the new 21st century - the rules of war, fast economics, strong independence, and high-speed information from the Internet, but most of their brains are too fried to understand anyway. They babble on, at tired rallies, using trite chants, holding up signs scrawled on by a 4 year old, while drooling on their tie-dyed shirts, dreaming about the 60's when they could engage in free sex, commune arrangements, socialism, and riots. Time, and the invention of the taser, has fairly well taken care of their desire to riot. Now they are fat, stupid, old, lazy, bitchy and miserable. Oh, and repulsive, especially to the younger generation.

The Old Media is taking some hard hits, too. Their slanted brainwashing tactics are not working so well anymore with the New Media in place and entrenched permanently in our lives and in their former domain. Even the queen of the morning, Katie Couric, is getting awfully cranky with her beloved party out of power for the foreseeable future and her enemy guests armed with solid up the minute facts. Have you seen her lately? The crows feet around her mouth now match the other end of her digestive tract, which we got to see on live TV a few years ago in a clinic. The New Media, comprised mainly of AM radio and the Internet, contains a who’s who list of all the enemies of the Old Media propaganda machine. Using real-time interactive discussion, volunteer on-the-scene eyewitness journalists, amateur photographers with the ability to post photos and movie clips, up to the minute reporting, and instant fact checking, the New Media is what’s HOT. Newspapers and TV are so last-millennium.

ABCCBSNBCCNNMSNBC are losing market share. Slowly yes, but still losing. And their last hero candidate, Al Gore, who even managed to lose his own home state of Tennessee in 2000, goes on a maniacal, socialist, nutball rant last month (another Sidebar: question for you rats – what have the Democrats of Tennessee learned about Al Gore since they elected him Senator that the rest of you Democrats are too stupid to understand? /End Sidebar). The Democrat’s last president is an impeached, dis-barred, lying, perjuring, cheating, lazy, cowardly sexual predator - and the feminazis don’t even blink. University graduation classes are energetically booing and heckling the guest speakers who have bashed Bush. The rat's campaign contributions are down to a trickle. Mike Wallace desperately grasps for an opportunity at the dedication of the WWII memorial to bash Bush and winds up being heckled and booed and making a lot of new enemies and later having to defend his actions. NY Times and other papers across the country are losing sales at a faster pace, and their editorial boards are being so strongly tormented on the Internet with facts and biting counter opinion that they have to coerce judges and force non-profit Internet sites to intervene to stop all this uncontrolled political discourse. Fair Use be damned, as any good socialist would shout.

These stories of the liberal’s last desperate dying gasps of air as their ship sinks should be heralded as great news. They have lasted long enough. It’s time to put them in a nursing home. The major democrat strongholds, all three of them, are finished.

They just don’t understand why they are losing so badly on every front. Both of their flagship attempts at using the New Media have been stinking up the joint. Air America on radio, and Salon.com on the Internet are dying, and both are taking party money down with them. BTW, You don’t hear the Democrats talking about that wonderful Information SuperHighway anymore like they did in the mid 90’s do you?

All that is "left" of them are old, tired blood and radical socialists. They are stuck in the last Millennium, the 60’s to be specific. They have aborted over 30 million of their own children who could have picked up the slack. They have driven down all their constituents by telling them that they couldn’t make it without Democrat protection, those constituent groups who could have been successful otherwise and would have been here now to pick up their hammers and sickles.

It is an interesting kismet how the conversion to FM radio format in the late 60's killed AM radio as a music format over a 10-15 year period. Its availability then happened to be a perfect format for the most popular talk show host of all time, Rush Limbaugh. And it's also deliciously satisfying that the Internet was created by the rabid socialist Al Gore. He created his own Frankenstein.

If the last 12 years of their demise is any indicator, my guess is that the rat party will collapse in on itself in the next 20 years and become a white dwarf. To fill the void, the Republican Party will split into a fiscal conservative party and a social conservative party.

Like watching an obvious movie where you can already predict the ending, this will be an enjoyable few years, as the rats try to figure out how to stop from going down the tube while stuck in a spiral, swirling in the bowl.

Read "1968",if you haven't done so already.

David Horowtiz's books also give added weight to what you've written.

The FFs,in their infinite wisdom,set our politics up so that we are NOT able to have multiple parties,which make for some strange bedfellow coalitions.That sort of thing only "works" in a parliamentary systems.

There have been all kinds of fringe parties,in America,but thankfully,they NEVER really amount to all that much.And don't even start in on how the GOP was a fringe party.It replaced the Whigs,but the Republicans had also made up a rather large part of the Whig Party.

From our beginnings,we really were a two party system...Federalists and anti-Federalists.

Thanks. I put a bit of thought to it.

It's interesting, really. The youth of the '60s were perfectly positioned to be susceptible to the propaganda they recieved from the socialists.

-They were used to an easy life compared to their fathers;
-They grew up believing that it was their DUE;
-The thought of having to give up their easy lives for the risk-filled and hard life of the military, even for only a few years, terrified them;
-They were the first generation of Americans to widely go to higher education;
-They were, in college, separated from their parents and families' influence;
-They were at a moment in their lives when they were looking for "something to believe in";
-Because of the above, they were particularly susceptible to socialist guilt-trips;
-Their professors and the Soviet-influenced radicals could, therefore, easily supplant their parents, at a crucial moment in their lives;
-The radicals made themselves "cool" and "stylish", thus increasing the lure.

All in all, it was the perfect time for the Communists to strike. The payoff for them can still be seen...it actually outlived the Soviet Union itself, and the discreditation of communism around the world.

Never read it. However, anyone looking at the history could come to the same conclusions.

I know that Horowitz would back me up in any case...I've read some of his work.

It used to confound me that ANY young Americans would refuse to serve their country en masse, or shy from adventure at an age when young men typically seek it out, especially since their fathers fought the Second World War. I had to look between the lines for the answers.

Cowardice, until then, had most certainly NOT been widespread in American culture. For it to surface so rapidly and radically, there must have been deliberate hands at work, as well as unique demographic and historical factors.

I see that you really have given this much thought and come to rational,logical,cogent conclusions.

While not all Baby Boomers and War Babies were susceptible to the Pied Pipers of Hippie/Yippiedom,many were and you left out one area,that was VERY influential...the music/the media.How so? Well an awful lot of music was littered with a siren song of sex and dope and rebellion.

Then,there's Doctor Spock. There have been "baby books",throughout all of the past 150 years,but NONE were as detrimental.Though he did NOT raise his own sons,in the same manner he advised everyone else to raise their progeny,just about every parent of Baby Boomers and beyond,clung to Spock's advice.He's responsible for parents spoiling an entire generation,with his "instant gratification" advice.He also said to give a child what he/she wants BEFORE the child knows that he wants it.He also was against spanking,believing that parents should just calmly "talk" to their kids,when they misbehaved.

The media made quite a big deal about Baby Boomers,from the time they began to arrive.So many bought into just how "special" they were;but they weren't and still aren't!

OTOH,it isn't the entire generation who are rancid.

Actually,you have to go back to the Cuban Missile Crisis,before the hippie thing started.I was in college,at the time,and people were freaking out,saying : " BETTER RED THAN DEAD." I was horrified and took to the stairs,haranguing the crowd with : BETTER RED THAN DEAD! GIVING UP YOUR FREEDOM,WITHOUT A FIGHT,IS SHAMEFUL AND COWARDICE!

In '68,when all hell REALLY broke out,I said to my mother,that these "leaders",from Abbie Hoffman to David Horowitz to to Mark Rudd,were RED DIAPER BABIES.I did NOT know this from anything I had ever read/heard about them;it was just a gut and intellectual thing and I've now been proved correct.

If you are at all interested in having a book list,I'll send you a few books that WILL reinforce your positions and give you some hard facts about the whole era.

Don't get me wrong...I never said the WHOLE generation was worthless. My cousin , Richard, for example, volunteered for the Army in '68. He died in heroic action in 1969, one and a half years after standing as my Godfather.

As far as the music goes, you have to remember that that was BEFORE the media, including musicians, became turned towards politics in all things as they are now (well, most). I think that much of it simply reflected the times, as most art does. Some musicians didn't even buy the whole line.

If you read No One Here Gets Out Alive, it makes the point that Jim Morrison himself was quite conservative in his views on war and socialist nonsense, if not on matters pertaining to the flesh.

True Dat. Most of the radicals and communist symps on college campuses back then grew up raised by the original communist believers of the early twentieth century.

Their parents were incensed that America rejected them, and that such people as Joe McCarthy dared to challenge them. They set their children to carry out their revenge.

Also, in the film industry, those communists infesting it were never truly cleaned out, and after laying low for a few years, began the attack anew when the time was right.

I never read that book,but since I am older than you,I remember things As they were and not what is books.

Even before the music (and the media WAS bad back then too,BTW)grew really Woodstock bad,the "comedians" and even some of the songs,were ridiculing parents and calling for rebellion."TICKY TACKY HOUSES" is an example.

None of the "free love",dope,feminist junk,and use of bad words were "new",but suddenly this stuff was no longer fringe;as it had been for 100s of years.And 1968 WAS the pivotal year.

"And 1968 WAS the pivotal year."

They were "jockying for position" and "locking and loading" for years, that's true. In '67-68 was when they struck with their full fury.

They had laid groundwork for at least a decade before, if not longer. All they needed was the right combination of events and demographics. Communists, over the decades, have shown amazing patience in carrying out their plans.

You're absolutely correct!

The Commies had been behind the "BAN THE BOMB" movement and they and their children went into high gear when the Vietnam War started,but were more or less ignored then.

Mario Savio and his crowd,went into overdrive,in Berkley, with the "FREE SPEECH MOVEMENT" and THAT picked up converts.

Demographics,rather than events (though "they" needed EVENTS to get things really going)was what gave the Commies their "in".The Baby Boomers were easy prey for their siren song and the events were ready made,because of LBJ's moronic micromanaging the war to failure.

Of the Presidents of the United States, I cannot decide who was the worst of all...Carter or LBJ. Both, by their actions or inactions, caused incalculable damage which is still being felt today. Sorry, but not even Slick was as bad as those two imbeciles. Maybe third on the list.

Woodrow Wilson and his wife (she Actually RAN things when he was ill;talk about a co-presidency!)were responsible for every single war of the 20th century;not to mention the League of Nations and the UN.

FDR and his band or merry Commies and Socialists,come in neck and neck.

Carter's small potatoes compared to those two,but Clinton,followed by LBJ Are in the mix. Carter has actually done far MORE harm to America and the world, since he left office.
