that stuff leaks, it always leaks. especially if the witnesses are out to damage Bush - they leak. everybody leaks.
I don't think so.
The thing about Loftus that is confusing - no one is a bigger hawk then him. He wants to blow everybody up - Syria, Iran, Hezzbollah, everyone you can think off.
Some categories of leaks can be prevented with Depends, others can be prevented when the witnesses are reminded that leaks are felonies punishable by substantial fines and jail time. Those that say, don't know. Those that know, don't say.
In this highly charged political year, the motivation to start false rumors about what the grand jury may or may not be hearing, is overwhelming.

Haven't listened to many talking
heads of late...any posts on FR
about this?
I haven't needed to look on FR for it, having heard the same thing from the multiple sources I've cited above. I don't know if there is or not.
Bush "approved" a leak?
Even got involved in this stuff?
I really doubt any president would. Plus this feeds into Wilson's self-importance - he was leaking BEFORE the NYTimes article.
Fantasies. More likely, Tenet or someone closer to him was the spiller, and they've been deflecting ever since. The leak of possible "white house" names are too close to the usual lib bugaboos. All the libs have this election season is ghosts.
Aas for Rove, I don't doubt he said "fair game." But AFTER Novak's article. Ie, post-Novak actions are being conflated with pre-Novak "leaks".
But maybe someone can ask Loftus this: Have you ever actually read what Novak said about the sources? (does he have an e-mail?) Is Novak describing a Cheney guy? Why would the "leak" be to an anti-war journalist, someone who agreed with Wilson? What about the intelligence officials who leaked to Newsday?
Sounds like Beltway B.S. ...
But maybe not...
