Could be useful when debating Union members....bump.
I have no suggestions as I'm not in a union, other than perhaps to ask whether or not Kerry supports the notion of separating one's personal dues contributions from any political donation on the union's part. (there's a specific term for that but I can't remember it right now)
You might try pointing out that Kerry wants to make US citizens out of the illegal immigrants. While Bush's time-limited guest-worker plan is not ideal, Kerry's ideas are far worse for union workers since those illegals (and their relatives) will be here permanently, and will low-wage away many good union jobs. Kerry's plan will also attract more millions to compete with current workers, since it provides such a sweat deal for the illegal/legals.
Trying to reason with a democrat voter is about the same thing as trying to keep a hog clean in a mud hole.
Can't be done.
I would first point out that labor and unions only wanted three things from their President: drill ANWR, oppose NAFTA, and oppose illegal immigrant amnesty, and that Kerry is a complete zero on every single one of those, as well as voting for every tax that would kill the business incentive to keep them employed.
Then I would note (snickering slightly) that he is the biggest phony ever to run for office, and that even Bill Clinton said George Bush is doing what he said he'd do.
Lastly, I would ask what a man whose chief talents are marrying rich women, living in multiple multi-million dollar mansions (some of which were overseas), and getting $1000 haircuts is going to do to improve an economy that is experiencing the biggest (factory) boom in 20 years? By his numbers, he is going to REDUCE the number of new jobs by some 30% from what we have now.
