Wasn't that the same name of the company that made all those text adventure games in the early 1980s? Hitchhikers Guide to the Galazy, Zork I, II and III, and a bunch of others?
I don't know if it's the same Infocom or not .....
I worked for a company in Dallas with a very similar name to Infocom, and people occasionally called us trying to reach them for services.
Their company was Palestinian owned, our was Pakistani owned. They were very religious Muslims, our company was comprised of Bhutto supporters (former Pakistani President) who were mostly secular. They were very family run (insular), our company was mostly managed by Americans.
I actually don't think that they had a true sales force, but relied on mail order sales and early Internet sales.
I liken them to the Palestinians who have taken over the Indian jewelry trade in places like Gallup, NM - a monopoly to take over a vertical trade, and fronts to bring in more family and friends to America.
