CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The following is a statement from Dr. Billy Graham on the death of Ronald Reagan:
Ronald Reagan was one of my closest personal friends for many years. Ruth and I spent a number of nights at the White House and had hundreds of hours of conversation with the President and First Lady.
Mr. Reagan had a religious faith deeper than most people knew. Nancy is one of the strongest and most dedicated women I have ever known. She and the children have my love and prayers.
The President was a man of tremendous integrity, based on his religious belief. I visited him and Nancy on numerous occasions in recent years and always had prayer with them. Though her husband was unable to communicate at times, Nancy would say, "When you prayed, I think he knew you were here."
The love between Ronald and Nancy Reagan was an example to the nation. No man ever had a more loyal and loving wife and no children ever had a more loving and faithful mother than Nancy.
bump for monday
God bless them both...and God, please bless Mrs. Nothingnew.

"God And Ronald Reagan"

We can see how far left our country has moved just from the time of Reagan's presidency. Reagan was a man whose faith was evident in just about every public speech he made. Yet today, if Bush dares mention God or his faith, we hear attacks about how the Taliban-wing of the Republican party is taking over the country.
It is really disgusting to see this hatred and bogtry...as if faith never had a place in our national leader's lives or discourse. Of course, it never stopped liberals like Jimmy Carter from expressing his faith...or other Democrats from campaigning at [black] churches when they needed to raise money.
It is surprisingly how silent the left have been regarding Reagan yesterday and today. DO you think they see the error in their ways? < /sarcasm>
During the news conference a little while ago announcing the plans for President Reagan's funeral, Joanne Clark mentioned that Billy Graham would be unable to participate in the services this week. I know that Reverend Graham is in poor health himself, but does anyone know anything about Dr. Graham's current condition?
no...
they see the horror of the world's most successful conservative, dying in an election year where someone who aspires to lead in the same manner as Ronald Reagan, is running for election. And it scares the hell out of them.
"How dare he die this close to the election?" and their disdain for R. R., will barely be repressed for the next two weeks... and they will eventually pop in disgust, to the chagrin of Kerry and Hillary.
the nationwide, even planetwide discussions and remembrances of R.R. will literally drive a Radioactive WEDGE between the HARD CRAZED Soviet leftover LEFTIES (America haters: feminists, tree worshippers and family values haters)... and the liquid center, and more moderate center-left in this nation.
The left HATED RR. with a passion.
But the NATION loved him.
Talk and discussion of Ronald Magnus Reagan, will move the political impetus towards George Bush...
They are hoping this is all just a bad dream and that it will all just "go away." It won't. But this is why they will feign praise and keep down the discussion for a few weeks, and then begin their move to ATTACK the Reagan legacy that they truly despise. They can't help it. They are commie fascists of hitlerian fervor.
This is going to benefit OUR side of any liberal conservative debate. They are quiet because there is no way to spin this in their favor.
The difference, I think, is while Reagan was very spiritual, he wasn't terribly into organized religion.
His current crusades have been postponed - according to his web site at
http://www.billygraham.org/aboutUs/news.asp?i=155
The meetings -- originally planned for June 17-20 (Kansas City) and July 28-August 1 (Los Angeles) -- are being postponed to enable Mr. Graham to complete a regimen of physical therapy and fully recover from a fracture he sustained in a fall at his home on May 14.
Bumpus Maximus to your reading recc!
Oh, put some old Reagan books in the library at the front of the new book section, a Freep for the Gipper!
the other thing that drives the libs crazy (God bless Reagan) is that his legacy will be the talk of the nation, not Bill Clinton's...his book is set for release in June or July!
Yes, isn't it awesome? Leave it to Reagan, even in death, he's sticking it to the left!
Take that, all you left leaning loonies who thought Nancy was a screwball who used fortune tellers and occultists in her every day life.
