Gift from God goes home

I know there is much wrong and uncertain in this world. But, today I wanted to say with certainty that I loved Ronald Reagan like a father.

The world has lost a man of great character. He was a gift from God and will live on for eternity through his thoughts, words, and ideals.

My greatest wish for him is that now that he is in Heaven – I hope God will give him all of his memories back. When Nancy passes on, I hope they will spend eternity together spiritually embraced.

Also, I would like to add that I am very fortunate to have lived during a period of American history when Ronald Regan was president.

God Bless Ronald Reagan!

Scott Smith

Godly, principled man

Ronald Reagan made me proud to be an American after the disgrace of Jimmy Carter. Reagan had [courage] and was one of the great leaders of all time. He changed the world and made our economy soar.

Of course, silly Bill takes credit, but Reaganomics was the staging point and vision. Reagan was able to set a Godly, principled course and follow it through with his convictions. Some men have ideas, but Reagan [had] Providence.

Joseph Rocco

Peace through strength

To defeat an enemy without engaging them in battle – thus saving thousands of lives – represents the highest and noblest achievement of any military. It is a rare triumph that those who accomplish such a feat should be honored accordingly.

Defeating Communist Russia – our nation's greatest military threat in the last 50 years – without having to wage war was such a triumph. Peace through strength – thank you Ronald Reagan!

Great prez, personal hero

President Reagan was one of my personal heroes. He brought pride back to our nation. He restored prosperity, hope and respectability to our land. I was proud to have served in the Air Force during both of his terms in office. He was the greatest president of the 20th century, and one of the top three, without a doubt!

Rest in peace, Mr. President ... you will be missed!

Patrick Dean

Goodbye to a true patriot

A true patriot has passed. A man with a vision for America. A man who believed in the greatness of this nation.

The world owes him an unattainable payment of debt. Millions suffered under the rule of communism and millions perished. He brought the leaders of this tyrannical regime to their knees – he brought down The Wall. He reunited a divided Germany and never once did he gloat.

In his early years as president, he led this nation out of the bondage of over-taxation and inflation. He took a floundering military and made them proud to be in uniform once again.

He believed in America as a bright shining light in a cold and dark night. He had a code of simple beliefs: Stand in strength, yet offer compassion.

Many have disagreed with his methods. But he stood fast. He offered the American people hope, pride and a purpose – a purpose to present the oppressed hope.

He always had a smile and never held back a tear ...

He believed in the spirit of individual responsibility and the spirit that made America great. Hard work and perseverance, never quitting, always ready to face the next challenge no matter the hardship.

Let's remember Ronald Reagan as a man who loved his nation – our nation. Let's grasp hold to his hope and optimism . Let us believe in his eternal faith in the goodness of America. We as a nation must hold on to his vision. We must persist in maintaining his vision of liberty and freedom for all mankind.

God bless Ronald Reagan and God bless America.

Samuel Trippi

Its a heart-felt sentiment shared by millions. And we will have a week-long national conversation about our 40th President to look forward to. No more having to listen to boring John F*ckin' speeches that put one to sleep for awhile. As an American, moving letters like these have me feeling in a much better frame of mind already. That's one for The Gipper! ;-)
