I am a 60-year-old man but I know what a teenage girl must feel like when she swoons over her favorite rock star. Every time I hear or think that phrase "There you go again" I hear Mr. Reagan's deep, mellow voice speaking with just the right touch of irony. I hear it and I swoon.
When I first heard Mr. Reagan saying that phrase in the 1980 debate with Mr. Carter, I was in my "in between" phase. I was in between being a liberal and conservative. The moment I heard Mr. Reagan say, "there you go again" I knew this man was something very special. I knew that what he stood for was something very special. My conservative side had won over and defeated my liberal side at that moment and forever.
Those four little words have got me through many tough situations in the past twenty some odd years. Every time I hear the words I think of all the power and glory that was in that man Ronald Reagan. The world and I will never forget what a better place the world has become because of the one man.
Mr. Reagan, you are sorely missed but you will never be forgot. God rest your wonderful soul.
Well said,Amen.
Jeff, there are millions of us that feel the same way that you do but just don't know how to put it in words quite like you did, thank you.
