SEA ISLAND, GA (AP) -
President Bush will deliver the eulogy at funeral services for former President Ronald Reagan Friday at Washington's National Cathedral.
White House press secretary Scott McClellan said Bush intends to return to Washington sometime Thursday after the conclusion of this year's Group of Eight economic summit.
Vice President Dick Cheney will participate in a Reagan-related ceremony on Wednesday, McClellan said.
On Wednesday, Reagan's casket will be brought from Andrews Air Force Base to the U.S. Capitol, where it will lay in state.

President Bush is a poor speaker when it comes to day to day items. But when he is on the world stage and the situation requires the greatest of speechs (address to congress after 9/11, 9/11 memorial at national cathedrial) he speaks on a level few others in history could dream of.
I suspect that his heart felt, honest emotion and words for Reagan will be one of his best.

They already are.
The day he died they were whining at DU that we would pull some political rally [ala Wellstone] at his funeral.
I am positive that we'll handle it with class and dignity.

No Clintons need appear. While I understand the sentiment, it is only proper that all living former Presidents attend the funeral of one of their own number. Hillary can stay at home for all I care, though.

It is also proper for all living Presidents to keep their mouths shut, rather than criticize the sitting President. Since the Clintons and Carters have violated that unwritten rule, they should all stay home.

Any reports yet of the G-8 leaders attending?.. Can you imagine the security that would/will require? This sounds like a ready-made AQ target of opportunity.

Bush is a class act and will not politicize this event.
And in a way, since so many will be watching, that will give him far more a political clout than the shameless Democrats could ever hope to gain from their funerary political rallies.

This is one Eulogy that I want to hear.
I wasn't the political and news junkie that I am now during the Regan years. I was working full time and going to school full time . I was thrilled at the end of the hostage crisis.
Regan has impacted the whole of the US for the better. We were blessed by his presence and our children have been blessed by his legacy.

Your post made me laugh...Even in death, Reagan has exhibited impeccable political timing! Truly, he will be remembered as one of the greats.
