To add insult to injury the reserve and guard units were the last to get the vests.
Pathetic.
No thanks to John Kerry.
Now lets get those Hummers up to speed with body armour as well.
I've been wondering for quite some time now, what were those flak jackets made of? What material provided protection?
I've seen them for sale in magazines for around $60. What is the intended protection level?
Does this mean that parents no longer have to steal the vests from military warehouses and DHL them to their kids?
"Soldiers are now equipped with bullet-resistant vests, after a shortage that led many soldiers to pay for costly body armor themselves."
Absolutely pathetic! Heads should roll for this outrageous oversight!
Remember this next time you see insipid sign saying it would be great if the military had to "hold a bake sale" so we could pour more money into school administration.
I called the company that makes them and wanted to buy a set for my son. (I just wanted to make sure he had the armor.) They don't sell retail, but he told me that EBay had them for sale. Evidently someone is stealing them off the docks and trucks and selling them. Needless to say, I called J.D. Hayworth's office to let him know. I did check EBay and sure enough there they were for sale.
Must really sadden the democrats to hear this. Are they THAT crass ?... No, they are much worse than crass.
Again, the media gets it wrong.
The troops now have the NEW body armor.
They've always had body armor. Just of a different variety. A variety, had they not had it EIGHT YEARS ago in Bosnia and then in Kosovo, I'm sure the media would have raised a stink. (Hint: they didn't ALL have it.)
Awful piss poor planning...Rumsfeld should be looking for work the fxckin douch bag,
And I am 100% behind the effort...the cluelessness that those people brought to Bushes presidency is astounding...they should be in cuffs.
I hate to 2nd guess but they should have been prepared for anything when dealing with those shamless people.
