Dread of fatherhood could be motive, witnesses suggest

Ron Grantski and Sharon Rocha, Laci Peterson's stepfather and mother, enter the courthouse Tuesday.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Scott Peterson might have had more motive than a mistress to kill his pregnant wife, prosecution witnesses implied at his capital murder trial Tuesday.

Relatives of Laci Peterson suggested the fertilizer salesman did not want a child and felt trapped and depressed about his life.

His sister-in-law recalled asking him whether he was ready for fatherhood.

"He looked at me and said, 'I was kinda hoping for infertility,'" testified Rosemarie Rocha, prompting several gasps in the courtroom.

As per the article: Geragos went fishing the same day/time as Peterson? What an idiot!

Jackie, I was watching the Today show yesterday and Katie Couric was discussing the case with someone. I don't remember the name. But they said that people had been saying there was no way Laci would have known about the affair with Amber without saying something to her family or friends. Well, it came out in Testimony that Scott had had an affair early on in their marriage and Laci knew about it but had not said a thing to her family or friends until years later.

The impression this person was trying to give is that when Scott said he told Laci about the affair with Amber it could have been true that he did tell her and she just kept it to herself like years ago.

Had you heard any of this?
