Nice post.
We ended up with a stray kitten that was found starving in an alley in New Haven last winter - when a good Samaritan took it to a vet, the vet decided to put it to sleep 'cause it was too far gone.
Someone sitting in the waiting room asked for the kitten as it was being brought into the room to be euthanized - she nursed it part-way back to health.
That's where we got her from - since then we've spent about $2000 on eye surgery plus a ton of meds for her.
Stupid? Yeah, maybe - but I could always make more money, but only God can make a kitten............
(Besides scoring huge points with my wife and daughter !)
