Re: Mubarak.

There was some event in DC that Mubarak bowed out of, at the last minute -- some meeting with GWB, maybe a month or so ago.

No reason was given, and I was thinking at the time that it was a sort of message that Mubarak was in disagreement with Bush on something.

But more likely there was a health issue that came up, if this report of his demise holds up.

This is a continuation of the information in my post above.

I forgot to mention the other high-tech avenue terrorists are experimenting with here in the US. They are preparing to use IR signalling devices in a terrorist attack planned for the very near future. One such device was found in the past few days on the SEPTA rail line near 34th and Powellton in Philadelphia, PA.

CURRENT INFORMATIONAL ADVISORY:

Now here is some news for all who come here. I have learned that there will very probably be a raise the the national THREAT ADVISORY LEVEL within the next 72-96 hours and continuing through Memorial Day weekend. The THREAT ADVISORY LEVEL will be raised from Yellow to Orange.

In Fact there are several American cities whose Federal and Local Law Enforcement are already operating at Threat Level Orange and have been for the past week or so.

The list includes, but is not limited to the following areas:

New York City
Washington DC
Chicago
Detroit
Miami
Houston
Los Angeles
Las Vegas
Seattle

Additionally all US infrastructure centers and communications systems/facilities have been advised by DHS to brace themselves for attempted attacks.

The information being developed and warned about are believed to encompass conventional explosives, or chemical or radiological devices.

Actually, Godzilla, Jill's information may very well be correct.

The information from both the US and Cairo that I am getting indicates that Mubarak may very well be dead.

My sources are not the same as hers, other than the message boards.

Egypt is not like the US. It took them 12 hours to announce Sadat's death and he was assassinated on national TV and died within minutes. Think about the way Gamal Abdul Nasser's death was handled in 1970 as well. Again, a fairly long (by US standards) delay before the announcement.

Remember how the Soviet Union handled the deaths of their leaders? They'd take hours or days to announce it, making sure a new leader was in place first. That's pretty much how it works in Egypt.

The information I am getting from people on the ground in Cairo is that something is up.

Debka is reporting that Mubarak was shown on TV tonight but did not indicate whether it was live or taped.

Mubarak has had some health issues; he collapsed in front of the Maglis al Shura back in November of 2003 and supposedly has a heart condition.

“North Korea-Iran Preparing a Joint Nuclear Detonation Experiment”

Quoting a military source well-acquainted with news concerning North Korea, the Sankei Shimbun reported on June 15 that six representatives, including an Iranian nuclear physicist, visited North Korea last month to prepare for a joint experiment for a nuclear triggering device.

This paper announced that the Iranian nuclear-related representatives, including a physicist and computer experts who are visiting North Korea will stay for six months and execute a detonation experiment using neutrons while utilizing the related equipments of North Korea.

This paper further added, “This experiment is to investigate the fluctuations of highly dense neutrons that cause nuclear disruption” and added, “Data obtained through this experiment is vital in manufacturing nuclear bombs.”

After pointing out that Iran currently does not possess technology to micro-computerize data of the nuclear experiment on its own, the source asserted, “(Iran) must have judged that they needed North Korea’s cooperation for having advanced in nuclear development.”

He also added, “North Korea seems to have taken this opportunity as a chance to obtain Iran’s nuclear experimental data as well.”

Godzilla, I don't believe 90% of the stuff I see on the jihadi boards. This information was reported in the UK by an established writer who has nothing to gain and a lot to lose with a false report. It spread to multiple message boards.

Haaretz did not specify a time of the meeting; Egyptian TV did not specify "live".

It may very well be true; or it may be wrong - I believe I said "VERY LIKELY" or something to that effect.

The information I have indicates it will be announced tomorrow evening Cairo time. I would say if there isn't confirmation of his death by Friday, that's he's still alive. Of course, a public appearance would put the rumors to bed pretty darned fast too.

Give it a day or two; if I'm wrong, I'll have the guts to come here and say I was wrong. If you're wrong, I'm sure you'll do the same :)

Saudi police surround house in capital

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) -- Saudi security forces and police surrounded a house in the capital Wednesday, Saudi security officials said, and intermittent gunfire was heard.

Police surrounded the entire district of Al-Badeaa, in southwestern Riyadh, and officers at a checkpoint about a half-mile away diverted traffic to other routes.

Gunfire could be heard late into the night and more security forces were seen arriving.

The operation came as Saudi Arabia has stepped up the search for the kidnappers of Paul Johnson, an American who was taken hostage Saturday.

Witnesses who had been diverted from the area by police speculated that the house may be the hideout of the suspected kidnappers. However, the security officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, would not comment on who may be in the house.

On Tuesday, Saudi forces arrested two militants north of Riyadh as they increased security in and around the city in the hunt for Johnson's kidnappers.

An Islamic Web site screened a videotape of Johnson, 49, on Tuesday threatening his life unless the Saudi government freed all its al-Qaida detainees by Friday night.
