I'm a yellow state.

You are right about no rights.

Even if you are able to have a gun, you can't carry. The only legal way to transport it outside the house is with it taken apart. Part has to be in the car itself while the other part has to be in the trunk.

Since I was brought up with "gun is bad", I tried having a relative (retired vet) start taking my son to the shooting range. He ended up with a $200 dollar noise ordinance ticket.

We are still trying to figure this one out.

See, this is why we need Federal reciprocity legislation using the 14th Amedment's Full Faith and Credit and Equal Protection clauses as well as the 2nd Amendment as Constitutional justification. If your driver's license is good in another state, so too, should your gun permit be valid and legal. Barring that, I wouldn't live in a yellow state and I durn sure wouldn't live in a red state!

But even many of the "Shall Issue" states are no great shakes for their restrictions and onerous red tape and training requirements. I'm pretty happy with the Florida model since we pioneered it, and of course, I consider the Vermont model to be ideal!

We have guns......many guns in our house....and the ammo to match. If the legality is questioned (although I doubt it would be here, in South Dakota) we would claim they are here for "pest control" "Pest Control" can be a rather dubious definition. Kind of like the meaning of "is" in Clinton speak.

They were at a range and got a ticket??? I don't understand :-)

Check some of these out, or call, and maybe they can answer some questions for you.
