Very good point. The skipper of the USS Ronald Reagan presented Nancy with the flag (at the family's request), and I would love to know what he said to her.Personally, I think it'd be nice to have a little bit of that private ceremony be private.

I understand. Point well-taken.
I saw an interview with the Skipper this week, and he was such an honorable man. He was clearly humbled to be asked to give the flag to Nancy. I mean, General officers would normally do that, not Captains.

I agree. Nancy let us have so much of these days. She needs to have some things to herself.

If Nancy had wanted it to be private, all she had to do was speak the words. She had full and final control over this. She didn't have to allow us into the private ceremony at all. I'm thankful she did. I'm of the opinion that the Reagans did this nation a huge favor in choosing this public ceremony.
