Rush has had many good years and many bad ones ... the past year has been a tough one. Bottom line, in spite of his many faults Rush is the best spokesman for the conservative cause, without question. He leaves Hannity in the dust when it comes to articulating various issues ... his analytical and insightful commentary drives the liberal media off the deep end. Rush is a national treasure.

It's curious, Rush used to mention his wife often. But, since late last year he really hasn't mentioned her at all. He used to talk about her brilliant inputs, or what she was reading, or how worried she would get if she had to take one of their cats to the vet, and how hard it was to put Bonnie Blue to sleep because she was so terribly ill.
He'd talk about going to Las Vegas, or trips, etc.
But, this week he said something that perked my ears, when he said he has no one to talk to at home except for his cat Pumpkin, and she can't talk back.
And, he has been saying that he is home all by himself bothering no one at all, just minding his own business.
I'm saddened by their separation. Lasting love is hard to find. And, even harder to keep.
I hope their separation was not caused by the hostility of an out-of-control State Attorney's political witch hunt against Rush Limbaugh and all the stresses that bears upon a marriage. Even a strong happy marriage could possibly be dented from such an unwarranted and unjustified government attack.
We all know the pressure being married to the world's top talk show host, especially one that creates such passionate hate from the left, must not be an easy road to walk.
I wish them both well, and hopefully, each will find a way back to each other's arms.
Rush often talked about writing a book on the first half of his life, "The Front Nine" but, I'm thinking the chapters to the second half of his life have not been so very easy lately.

He is living in a 20+ million dollar home.
I guess with all that room they may have lost each other.
Now I am no beauty far from it but when I heard he was marrying Marta 10yrs ago I cringed at the thought of having sex with him. He IMO is an ugley fat white man.

This is true. This marriage was the third for Marta as well. She's probably got some hefty baggage of her own as well. Marta is about 43 (Rush is 53) and had two (?) children when she married Rush. The divorce also means that the children will lose a stepfather, which is especially tough if they are still minors in the custody of their mother.

Her children are older. I remember hearing on a broadcast about three years ago, Rush was talking about a night out with one of Marta's children and some of his friends while they were on spring break from college.

Thank God for small favors -- it may be less painful for the children if they are out of the house. I don't know what kind of relationship Rush had with them, or even if Marta had custody, but if she had custody ... first to lose a father then a stepfather ... terrible.

It's getting harder and harder to reconcile his behavior with his rhetoric. Amazing statement. Rush is a human being with the same trials and problems as the rest of us. Wow.

OTOH, she may have been in a bad situation for a while and when all of Rush's problems hit, she decided to stay with him, at least officially, until he was stable enough for her to feel like she could leave him. There's no way to know and I hate to speculate.

I have to say the same thing about men. It would have to be someone very very special for me to try again. One divorce about killed me. I'd rather be alone than be dragged through that sort of hell a second time. Fortunately I like my own company and have two excellent cats besides.. I hope Rush keeps the cats. At least when they give you s**t all you need to do is scoop it up. There is much less emotional and psychological damaged than from a spouse.
We could be twin sisters! I was married for six years, when he decided he didn't want to be married any more. Correction - he didn't want to be married to me any more. He remarried soon after our divorce. I won't even date - my trust in men was almost completely destroyed.
Like you, I enjoy my own company, and I have two cats, too!
When people ask me how my marriage was, I just reply that I've had a longer, more satisfying relationship with my car.
The only down side for me, now, is that I'll never have children. My father keeps trying to get me to go out again, but he just doesn't understand. After all, my parents have been married for almost 47 years now - lucky them! He just doesn't understand that it's far better to be alone than to be so incredibly lonely in a bad marriage.

I had my one big Marriage Experience a few years back.NBM, myself.
- But I simulate the experience by paying a woman to come over once a week to nag me.
- I know I'll never achieve greatness, though. Behind every great man, there's a woman, telling him how worthless he is.
- I once found the woman of my dreams, the kind where you wake up screaming.
- I wouldn't call her a slut. Larry Flynt would, but I wouldn't.
- We did have a lot in common: Most of my friends, apparently.
- Her legs were a perfect 7-11: always open.
- She's the kind of girl you can take home to mother, if you really really hate your mother.
- I would have broken up with her but it's rare you can find someone who can forgive all of your flaws -- after pointing out each and every one of them.

I love Rush. He was eloquent yesterday. However, his personal life is a total train wreck. His self-destructive behavoir is like that of 1980s rock star.Oh, no. Not a VH1 Behind the Music.

I don't know about anyone else on this board, but a divorce isn't gonna stop me from listening to Rush every opportunity I have.
Rush has been a great asset to the conservative movement in the USA. Unfortunately, we can't be all things to all people.
GO RUSHBO! An always remember, if you really want a good argument, just call the ex!
To: txradioguy
One of the reasons we pay for the internet streaming is that they have to kill the commercials because of AFTRA. Rush might still charge if commercials could go out over the net, but many others might not bother.

I learned what a liberal is from Rush. As for his own personal failings, I would pray for him and hope he could become as perfect as his many judges.
To: ladyinred
Funny? I guess. Old fashioned things look pretty funny to modern people.
To: Lazamataz
So that's his third bad judgement call?
