When talking about the oil and gas industry one thing has to be kept in mind:

ALL advancements in drilling and production comes from the United States of America, and most of it is developed on the Gulf Coast of Louisiana.
The oilfields of the world depend on U.S. expertise and technology to continue operation.

Many countries have tried to boot out the Americans and run it themselves. None have succeeded.

I wonder what will happen to them when we pull out or leave them to their own devices.

Saudi Plan "A" is to have enough invested in the West so that the return will equal oil income forever. That of course, would be enough to take care of the House of Saud in its many thousands. What happens to the millions of illiterate ordinary folk, the terrorist recruiting pool? Despite the fact that there are almost no infrastructures of sustainablity anywhere in the Muslim world that are not designed, built and maintained by foreigners, they will survive somehow, Inshallah. (Largely by being paid to go cause trouble elsewhere, alhumdoolillah.)

Of course, when the House of Saud is eventually overthrown and the infidel foreigners (ferengi literally the "Franks" of crusader fame) who defile the sacred soil of Muhammed (May Peace Be Upon Him), are eventually killed and/or thrown out, oil production will probably cease within 3 months, or weeks, or days. A week later the electricity will go off. Then, the massive desalinization plants that enabled the gigantic population growth, will go off line. Cell phones might last a while longer. (Of course, one of the sharper chisels in the Arab tool box might decide those CHICOM infidels ain't so bad.)

Of course, this is not a question of "IF,"
but of "WHEN". OBTW, there is no Plan "B".

But the eventual overthrow of the House of Saud is not the only problem facing Saudi Arabia. They have an oil reservce large enough to supply the world for 1,000 years, with increases at the present rate factored in. That was before the discovery of the new fields in the Empty Quarter, which DOUBLED known reserves.

Call me paranoid, but I have the feeling the present JIHAD and the attempt to move parts of the population of the faithful to Europe are at least partially caused by fears of a preciptious drop in oil prices due to the enormous OVERSUPPLY of the commodity. If oil falls below $25/barrel and stays there, it could be chaos for KSA. Even though it only costs them about 50 cents in real money to produce and ship it, the Royals need every penny of the difference to keep the ever growing number of pathologically bored, non-working peasants fed, and behaving nicely. These folks are a time-bomb with a short fuse.

Oh yeah, The world is literally awash in oil. Domestically, we just don't have the refining capacity here to handle it. No new refineries since Eisenhower, thanks to our pals on the left.

As far as this hatred of the Jews goes, IMHO it IS envy. Islam is strongly rooted in Judaism (and accepts elements of Christianity, too), and the Arabs simply cannot understand how the Jews made the successful shift toward becoming Westerners, with all those beautiful Western perks (which they design, build, and MAINTAIN all on their own.)

Those Jews. They deny Muhammed (May Peace Be Upon Him) and they get all those goodies, too? That just ain't fair! Try this experiment: don't work for 1400 years and just sit around mulling over this damned unfairness in your mosque 5 times a day, under the direction of mullahs who vie for title of the "most bloodthirsty" and you may get a clue to the sick nature of this semitic anti-semitism, not to mention the development of anti-infidel feelings in general.

Oil? No problem for the West, just some technical and economic issues. Islam. Big goddam problem. Incompatible with the West. It's us, or them. Sorry.
