Nice rant - makes sense to me - I just finished watching a special on the Discovery channel about the causes of 911 by Thomas Freedman - it echoes much of what you say.

The Arabs blame the US for their third world status when they were leaders of the world at one time. They think that if we stopped supporting Israel, the monarchies and dictatorships they could then have their Islamic paradise.

It was reported that the GNP of the 22 Arab countries don't equal the GNP of even one European country, Spain. They are wallowing in poverty and fail to blame themselves instead of their Religion - and wish they could live the lifestyle of America.

In my opinion, one of the main reasons they continue to maintain a 3rd world economy is that they are wasting half of their natural resource - women. More than half of the women are illiterate - thanks to their religion.

Friedman-esque hyperbole. The Arabs led the world is not quite accurate. What they were doing is growing fat on the carcass of the Byzantine Empire. As soon as they had consumed all there was to consume, destroyed or perverted what they couldn't, and forcibly converted those Christians they could get their hands on, they thereupon went into a decline from which they are yet to emerge.
