Speaker Davidson: John Kerrys Pessimism Wont Bring Jobs to Ohio
COLUMBUS, OH Today, Bush-Cheney 04 Regional Chair and former Speaker of the House Jo Ann Davidson issued the following statement regarding recent economic growth and Sen. John Kerrys continued pessimism toward an improving economy:
"John Kerrys gloom and doom campaign talk wont create one job in Ohio. Worse, by continuing to speak negatively in the face of an ever-improving economy, Sen. Kerry shows no appreciation for the folks here who have worked hard to expand our economy and add jobs. Today, Ohios economy continues to improve: wages are up, the manufacturing industry has been expanding for 12 consecutive months and President Bush's pro-growth policies have helped create more than 1.4 million new jobs nationwide over the past nine months.
John Kerrys defeatist agenda is ignoring the facts about our growing economy. Ohios economy gained 4,300 payroll jobs in April, with three quarters of this job growth taking place in industries paying more than the national average. The reality is that President Bush's strong and steady economic leadership is adding new, high paying jobs right here in Ohio.
OHIO ECONOMY FACTS:
Unemployment down. The unemployment rate is down in Ohio from 6.2% a year ago to 5.8% now. The national average is 5.6%. Ohios average unemployment rate in the 1990s was 5.4%. (Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, seasonally adjusted, 5/21/04)
Personal incomes swell. Ohio personal incomes increased .9% to $346.2 billion during the fourth quarter of 2003. (Source: U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, 4/27/04)
Housing values increase. Ohio housing values increased 4.3% in 2003. Over the last five years, home values have risen by 22.4%. (Source: Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight, 3/1/04)
That is how propaganda works. Kim Jung IL can almost convince the North Koreans they are not starving and they are far superior to and they have it much better off than those bad old S. Koreans loud enough and long enough....
This isn't North Korea.
The media HATED Ronald Reagan and back then the networks and major papers ruled all. There was no Foxnews, no Rush, no Free Republic. They still carried just one state for Mondull.

That's right. Nobody should lose any sleep over the liberal media because in fact they have been losing ground like crazy in the ratings war during the few years Bush has been in office alone.
Polls show that the good economic news is slowly starting to sink in....it takes time. But if it keeps up it will definitely effect the election.
The economy is definitey on the up in Ohio, even in the Cleveland area. My father and his brothers run a construction company that does the bulk of its work in the state, and they have so much work that they have had to hire several new project managers and job superintendants in the past few months. There is building and hiring going on, and things are getting better, despite what the media says.
Nonsense. Bush will work under the radar by going local, getting the news out on local t.v. He will also deluge the state with ads. Ohio will be his. So will PA--unless Kerry establishes a better presence on the ground. Even NJ is up for grabs, with W within a few pts of Kerry. He will also take FL handily.
Does anybody remember the address for the site which shows job creation by state? I tried a couple of times and I couldn't find anything. I thought by now there would be something out.
Last demonstraton I went to - the Kerry supporters were pretending to be Bush supporters to get our extra signs then they would rip them up.
