Toby Keith is a registered Democrat. Why get upset if someone disses him?

It doesn't matter what he's registered as. Unless you read that in TV Guide you would never have known that. His songs are unabashadly Pro-America.

This is one reason I hate the Award Shows lately. These entertainers use the stage as a bully pulpit to diss our President.
And the minute I find which side of the fence an entertainer is on, that is when I decide if I want to continue supporting them. If they diss our President, then I will put them on my list to boycott them.
It's gotten way out of hand.

That's what I think. They think they run this Country. I'm so sick of it. If we don't do something now, it's going to get worse and every show will be a platform for these idiot to talk about their issues and candidates.

Toby Keith is also supporting Pres Bush and the War in Iraq. A lot of Oklahomans are still registered Democrats that support Republican candidates. This used to be a total Democrat state and the House and Senate are still Democrat controlled but hopefully not for long after November.

Ah you are in the Peeple's state of Kalifornia. I am in the same, only called Washington.
I understand the frustration of living among them.

Look, I'm not worried about educated people, their minds are made up either way and that's that. But kids have been brought up up with the cult of celebrity. I'm talking about the next generation and those who have never read a newspaper in their lives. You can huff and puff that it's insignificant, but when Snoop Dogg tells them he'll give them free tickets to a concert if they register and then feed them all the liberal crap, you should start feeling very afraid.

OK. Elle magazine. Liberal media. Dixie Chicks fan. Hollywood connections galore. What would you expect? And CMT, trying so hard to be fair and balanced. Believe me when I say that country music fans are decidedly pro-America and take this woman with a grain of salt. She just shot herself in the foot with those comments, IMO.

FAIR AND BALANCED???? During a tribute show??? Please. We are so nice that we cannot even face the facts that the media will do anything for the Dems to win this election.

If President Bush and his administration don't think media bias is a problem, why should Freepers care about it?
To: Hildy
I'm with you. I don't know what the heck is going on w/ CMT. That show they had on a while back -- "50 of the Greatest Fashion Statements in Country Music" or something like that -- had me thinking "
What the...? What is this? The Style Channel or something?"
But then I remembered that the company that owns CMT also owns the Style Channel, E.,Travel Channel, Nick., MTV,VH1 and heaven only knows what else. So it's pretty much bye-bye Bob Wills and hello fashion editor from Elle.
(By the way, what was CMT's #1 romantic song?)

Slim, I've said for years that what they ought to do is set up an entire network for Awards shows. They could call the network the "Award Show Scene," or A.S.S. for short. Then anytime, day or night, viewers could tune in to any number of these stupid wastes of time. Just get them all corralled into one big pig pen.
