"I was raised Democrat, but I vote for the best person for the position," Keith said. "I'm grateful that Bush is in there now. I'm grateful that we don't have Clinton or Gore or somebody at this time in our life."

My dear old Dad was a lifetime member of the Democrat party, and ALWAYS voted Republican. He said he registered Democrat to keep an eye on the enemy. LOL!

That's what I think. They think they run this Country. I'm so sick of it. If we don't do something now, it's going to get worse and every show will be a platform for these idiot to talk about their issues and candidates.

It's going to get a lot worse between now and November. And since Fox and the rest of the media skirt the truth about FnKerry, it's going to drive us all nuts.

We just have to pray for the best and keep faith that all will work out come November for us.

LOL!! I love it! President Boren here at OU was a Democrat Governor, Senator, and counts among his best friends -- the Bush Family. In fact he serves as an advisor to President Bush on foreign security.

I'm a country music fan and I watch cmt, but I missed that comment. Yes, it was definitely insensitive of cmt to let that comment in. But remember, these channels are owned by the entertainment industry, and it's to their advantage to promote controversy.

For instance, I read "Country Weekly" and they're still pushing the "Toby vs. Natalie" controversy on their subscription page (p. 73), using an old cover with Toby and Natalie pics to solicit new subscribers. If the controversy didn't generate new income, they wouldn't be doing it.

Roy Rogers was about 100 times better than the patriotic, but average, Toby Keith.

Toby Keith is a registered Democrat. Why get upset if someone disses him?

HEY !!! I resemble that remark !

I'm a registered Democrat too.
If I want to have a vote in my local city and county elections I have to be.
I tried registering as a Republican and saw that I was left out of having a say in the primaries (where most of the local stuff is decided) so now I am registered as a Dem and just vote spoiler in any of the national primaries.
Toby may have the same situation where he's from...if not, we need MORE democrats like him !

Goodness, get a grip, maybe Roy Rogers' romantic song writing is better than Keith? How does Keith's political position affect his ranking as a romantic song writer?

Toby Keith is also supporting Pres Bush and the War in Iraq

Actually, he supports the war in Afghanistan and is iffy on the war in Iraq. Don't get me wrong, I am a hugh Toby Keith fan, but I don't think he's going to become a freeper anytime soon.

I saw a photo of Audi Murphy in his uniform. Not one inch of cloth was visible on the front of it. The uniform was COVERED with medals. What a guy!

What's a writer for Elle magazine doing on CMT anyway? That just doesn't compute...

Hildy, you're a good ole FReeper. Save your energy and anger for something that really matters. ;-)

No problem.

Here's another.

"KEITH: I was raised Democrat, but this Democrat today is not exactly the Democrat that -- it's not your daddy's Democrat. You know, it's -- the parties have changed. So I vote -- I vote more for the person instead of the -- instead of the party."

I should have supplied you with a quote: "I never one time have ever, anywhere, said anything about the Iraq war."- Toby Keith. That is from the CMT website in his interview after some award show recently.
