Toby just said the other day that he is negotiating a duet with a female singer. He didn't say who it was, but he did say that if it worked out, it would be "huge." Have you heard anything about who it might be? I just don't even want to go there...
At my house, the only hope you have at reaching me is by advertising on FOXNews, if you don't, chances are I won't buy your stuff because I only see the stuff that is advertized on FOX.
I always liked the story about the lifelong dimocRat who, on his deathbed, changed his registration to Republican. When asked by his wife why he did that, he said "I would rather have one of them die that one of us".
PKM, you just reminded me of something. I do a lot of driving between Tulsa and Grand Lake. Buncha small towns up around the lake. Anyways, I have been seeing tons of elect so-and-so signs for sheriff, state rep, whatever. Anyways, every single one of them is a Democrat. I didnt see a single sign for a Republican. Now I know that there are a lot of conservative people in these areas, do they just have to pretend to be Democrats to be elected, or do they just not identify themselves with the National Dem party, or what is the deal? It seemed like if you declared yourself a Republican, they would run you out of town...
When Dan Rather or Tom Brokaw or one of those three was following him around, he said he wasn't sure about Iraq. I saw it with my own eyes.
You are so on the right track Hildy! Remember, they're trying to lower the voting age in california...to what..14? (((rolling eyes)))
Appreciate your info! LOL Never knew that :)
Don't kid yourself.
Rush even referenced Myrna Blyth's new book "Spin Sisters" the other day... her thesis being fashion magazines and whine-tv are MAJOR forces in influencing the politics of American women.
Seriously... Spin Sisters is a major "must read."
Yours is exactly the mentality targeted by the "Spin Sisters." Overt confrontation and its requisite polemics are avoided. Just slip the politics in with the make-up choices and no one will even notice.
Didn't it strike you as peculiar that Toby Keith out of 99 others was the one she picked to disparage?
Didn't strike me as strange as all. This was a show about Country Love Songs. Roy Rogers is known for his love songs, Toby Kieth is known for his angry songs. Kieth's two hits are loud and angry songs.
There are plenty of things to be angry about. 10 seconds of absolutely nothing to do with anything other than a stupid country music love song hit list is a complete and utter waste of time.
It amazes me is all the people who get up in arms and want to write letters and cancel their cable over a show that they never saw. I saw it, it was far from political. Toby Kieth writes angry songs, not love songs.
And actually the Elle writer was choosing a REPUBLICAN over a DEMOCRAT. Roy Rogers and Dale Evans were HUGE REPUBLICANS and Toby Kieth is a registered democat.
So why not change this thread to...'Country Music Television guest chooses a Republican over a democrat and I still have my panties in a wad'.
Until you mentioned it, I completely forgot I was registered Dem too, for the exact same reason you are! LOL I get so wrapped up in criticising Dems both here and elsewhere that I forget I'm technically a Democrat. I've tried changing my registration actually (for the principle of the matter) yet for some reason was unsuccessful. If I were really paranoid, I might suspect a conspiracy to keep people registered Dem! hehe
And speaking of spoilers, here's to hoping Nader's the biggest spoiler of em all this November! Spoiler of Kerry's campaign that is. ;)
And out of one hundred choices you're telling me Toby Keith was the overwhelmingly obvious "square peg?"
No body should slam you because you don't smell what they smell, but don't be so parochial you claim it doesn't stink.
Did you even watch the show?
Did you read "Spin Sisters?"
You didn't answer my question, of course. Typical democrat dodge. Is that you, James Carville?
You'll kindly note you didn't answer my previous question either, "Hillary."
