WASHINGTON (AP) -- John Kerry has begun interviewing potential running mates, including Rep. Dick Gephardt of Missouri who spent about 90 minutes in the Democratic presidential candidate's Capitol office Wednesday.

I heard that Kerry's folks are actively wooing Sam Nunn who was one of the few decent Dems elected to office in the past 25 years....

He could woo Sam all he wants - I don't think he'd go for it. Personally, I hope he picks Iowa's Governor - so we can get rid of him.

I read over at DU that Kerry was considering William Cohen, Clinton's former Secretary of defense. I wonder if Kerry is playing possum and floating names (Gephart, Edwards) when he really plans to announce a surprise like Cohen.
They said that Gephardt was seen going into Kerry's office. Maybe it was so Kerry could break the rejection to him gently.

Last night Chris Matthews was certain it would be John Edwards. Further, Chris said Edwards was the one who could take out Dick Cheney's kneecaps in a debate. "Cream him", said Chris.
He used the kneecaps phrase at least twice.
Well. As if we needed more proof the he is unhinged. Edwards cream Dick Cheney? I think not.

Even to consider Cohen would be a slap in the face of Wesley Clark, who has a lot more admirers on the ultra-left than Kerry does.
