Clinton: Claims I Turned Down Bin Laden are 'Bull'
NewsMax.com ^ | June 17, 2004 | Carl Limbacher

Posted on 06/17/2004 8:14:14 AM PDT by Carl/NewsMax

In his interview with CBS newsman Dan Rather set for broadcast on Sunday, ex-President Bill Clinton flatly contradicts his earlier recorded confession that Sudan offered to arrest Osama bin Laden and hand him over to the U.S., calling reports of such an offer "bull."

"On the accusation that he had opportunities to get Osama bin Laden, had opportunities to have him delivered by the Sudanese, he said, 'absolutely, flatly untrue,' describing it as 'bull,'" Rather tells the Washington Post on Thursday.

In Feb. 2002, however, Mr. Clinton clearly admitted that the Sudanese offer had indeed taken place. And that he turned it down.

"Mr. bin Laden used to live in Sudan," Clinton told the Long Island Association on Feb. 15, 2002.

"He was expelled from Saudi Arabia in 1991, then he went to Sudan. And we'd been hearing that the Sudanese wanted America to start dealing with them again.

"They released him. At the time, 1996, he had committed no crime against America so I did not bring him here because we had no basis on which to hold him, though we knew he wanted to commit crimes against America.

"So I pleaded with the Saudis to take him, 'cause they could have. But they thought it was a hot potato and they didn't and that's how he wound up in Afghanistan."

On Thursday morning, MewsMax.com offered CBS's "60 Minutes" a copy of its exclusive recording of Clinton's remarks.

But it's not clear whether the network will be willing to embarrass the ex-president by airing smoking gun proof that his current claims about the bin Laden offer are false.

Listen to NewsMax.com's exclusive recording of Bill Clinton admitting that he let bin Laden go free.

What's even more interesting to me .. he talked about not taking Osama when he was behind closed doors. Then .. in the light of day he says it's untrue. Typical of liars.

I'm thinking that this summer of Clinton can help us. He's a pathological liar. We all know that. Now, it's all on paper. People are going to be coming out of the woodwork to dispel the lies he's written down and he'll be shown for the utter fraud he is. People will be reminded what it's like to have a dishonest person in the White House and it will work to Bush's advantage.

Yeah... right. And they cow will jump over the next full moon. Republicans are clueless in getting the truth out. I send emails to W, Cheney and Rummy almost every day with quotations from the Libs, and there is never any response from the WH on the radio, in print, or on tv.

The "lied to his diary" guy was Joshua Steiner. I can't remember his position in the administration, though.

Bill Clinton is like that puppy you'll never be able to housetrain because every time you try to get tough with him, he just gives you that cute puppy look and you cave in.

While I haven't seen the clip (I don't have a TV), I have a perfect picture of "the look" he must have on his face as he "confesses" to one sin of thousands, and, like so many, many times before, it will probably work.

He tells so many lies he can not keep up with them.

Between the VD and coke, he's losing it.

"I denied that I turned him down before and after I admitted that I turned him down."

Stay tuned.

Now there's a book I could actually buy, although weighing in at over six thousand pages, I would probably have to pay extra shipping for it.

Clinton views everything as if he were in a legal deposition. Legally he could prove that what he said last night was true and doesn't contradict previous statements. But Clinton's largest failure is that he does not subscribe to the spirit of the law which is what truly makes him a liar.

Well, that look makes me nauseous.

I pointed out yesterday that this fiction that Monica was the only one and it was some sort of aberration instead of the compulsive and constant activity with a laundry list of women--some of whom repulsed his moves, like Kathleen Willey--is driving me up a wall.

Monica was not the only one, as we all know, yet he's allowed to pretend so.

So Dan Blather confronted him with the audio file when he said this right? (Do I have to turn the sarcasm off? I'll just have to turn it back on later).

Ah yes, Bill Clinton is the alcoholic who "only had one drink". The whole notion that he is a one-time sex offender is something I don't think anyone in the world actually believes, even his most ardent worshipers.

Frustrating as it may be, I can assure you that the personal torment he inflicts upon himself is probably far worse than what even his most rabid critics might wish for him. Yes, even worse than death.

He is not improving with time, and he knows it. As much as he thrives on and depends upon the company of others, he is, no matter where he is or how many fawning sycophants are crowded around him, utterly alone. As narcissistic as he is, he is consumed by self-doubt and feelings of total inadequacy.

He will keep trying to reenter politics. Who knows? Maybe he really will become U.N. Secretary-General someday. But no matter what happens, he will always remain miserable to the day he finally fades away, given respite only by the stream of distractions and dalliances that form an increasingly dominant part of his life.

Unique as he may be, we all know someone like Bill Clinton, and the story is always a tragic one, just as Clinton's ultimately is. And as contemptible as he may be, I cannot hate Bill Clinton.

It's all on paper, and happily, all on tape - audio and video. Clinton loves to hear himself talk so much, there should be lots of examples of him contradicting himself. Should prove to be a fun summer!

And imagine an ad that ran which featured Clinton audio saying "I turned down Bin Laden" "Saying I turned Bin Laden down is Bull..." and John Kerry and his inconsistencies as well...

Paint Kerry to be as much of a scumbag as Clinton. Yeah, could be a fun summer after all heh heh heh

Because if it's on television, it must be true. They're banking on it.
