It should be in the news, here in Az. There has been a sudden upsurge in arrests of elderly Americans who, having crossed the border, in search of cheap prescription drugs, are being tossed into Mexican prisons. Channel 3 in Phoenix profiled the plight of a 67 yr. old man, who traveled to Mexico, to secure drugs for his sick wife. Had a legal prescription (which the Mexican govt. doesn't recognize) and he's now facing up to 10 yrs. in prison. The news channel says that they know of at least a dozen other Americans in the same boat - languishing in prisons, but our Consulate does nothing about it. In fact, these prisoners are not even fed - they have to have family and friends bring them food or they don't eat. I have no use for these 'neighbors' to our South. It would make a fine place to resume above ground nuclear testing IMHO
That's outrageous, we'll never hear about or see this news in the national media but we will get stories of Fox making demands of the US, a superpower. They must be laughing their butts off in Mexico at what chumps we are.
I have heard about people crossing and getting arrested in Mexico buying medicines. Although, I haven't heard of it in a long time. This is just another form of kidnapping or blackmail by the Mexican thugs. National news will never carry a story like this.
