Syria preparing sanctions against United States

DAMASCUS, Syria (AP) -- Syria is preparing a law that would prohibit trade dealings with the United States in response to U.S. sanctions imposed on the Arab country last month, Syrian legislators said Saturday.

More than 130 members of the 250-seat legislature have prepared a draft of the "America Accountability Act" that would impose "strict sanctions" on American interests in Syria.

The only American interests in Syria that I know of are, "Where are you hiding Saddam's WMDs?" and "Where are the terrorists you're harboring?"

Seriously their major items of export are crude oil, petroleum products, fruits and vegetables, cotton fiber, clothing, meat and live animals, wheat.

To show you how serious this is, Costa Rica imports more things from Syria then the US does.
